Does anyone know if you can swap the K4900 neck board on an early version chassis with the later version model (the one with the vertical position board) or would there be compatibility problems?

i do know that the k4900 neck pcb does have a different - number on the back of them but i don't truly know if it would make a difference. as i recall one has a C411 and the other has a C404. check the numbers on the back and if they are the same your okay but if not i would hope someone here will chime in.

re Ops question on 4900
There does appear to be more differences than just the c411 and c404. there is a also a trace difference where screen r417 is on the -017 which doesn't exist on -024 neck pcb. could be other differences as well.

So my results based on trying this swap and testing another chassis that looked to be mismatched.

Failure: tried 2061459-024 neck on a 2061433-037 main pcb. Result was some faint red, green, blue blobs on screen. fixed original -017 neck pcb and it worked fine when paired with same main pcb. see video https://youtu.be/wWVPv2IzJn8?t=214

Success: had a chassis with -017 neck board and was paired with a -040 main pcb. Seems to work fine.

So limited sample size and could be errors in testing by me but it appears that lower rev neck pcb will work with newer rev main pcb but not the other way around. This doesn't include the earliest pcb versions which also have yoke compatibility issues. see thread
