Hi all,

Looking for some help with identifying this issue with my monitor. K4900 chassis - has already been recapped and have ordered a b+ cap also just in case.

the right hand side of the screen (about an inch)...is wavy/out of focus/not sharp.....

Any ideas? ....horizontal hold doesn't make it any better?

Thanks,

It looks like the convergence is off in the corners. The worse it is the more it has a tendency to make it look out of focus/blurry.

Can you put the game into a test mode that displays a "convergence" screen. They typically look something like this:

If the corners are out (typical) then you'll see it on this screen.

Was this issue present before the cap kit? k4900 has a couple versions and two different yokes. I would double check you have right chassis with the right yoke. Also the cap at C308 ( C306? not 100 percent sure ) has two different values that effects width.

Yeah was working fine…ended up with roll over across the top…so did a cap kit..and now this…maybe one of the caps is bad?

Ah, I appear to have misunderstood your question. I read into the out of focus part but it seems the graphics just smear left at that 1" mark. Clearly something else going on.

Curling and such at the edges can be caused by the horizontal hold adjustment as there's typically a wide range that it locks in but messes with the edges of the image.
