Hi Guys

After sending my monitor for repair, I plugged my Galaga cabaret monitor in last night. Worked perfectly for about 20 mins, but it started to periodically lose vertical hold and I heard a repeated clicking sound from the monitor. I see no evidence of arcing.

The repair guy has a good rep, so I'll check with him, but thought I would ask here as well in case it may not be the monitor ultimately causing this.

Trying to put this project to bed, so I appreciate any feedback.

Thanks!

it could be the cap 621 to the back of the chassis might need to be replaced. flyback might be dying as well but unlikey.

Thanks guys. I'll give that axial cap a whirl. I dug up an older thread with the exact same symptom/fix (plus recommended replacing the C633 bp cap).

Also worth noting, the clicking was reduced a little after I correctly attached the neck ground to the tube as pointed out by the repair guy. D'oh!

Finally got back to the Galaga tonight. The paper axial cap (C621) was dead and causing the symptoms. A replacement fixed the pain. Thanks Paul400 for the tip!
