Yesterday I recapped my first K4600 and I am hoping someone can shed light on some weirdness I am experiencing with it. That chassis is definitely an interesting design.

I installed a full cap kit, triple checked polarity, did a thorough reflow, and replaced C621 and C405 while I was in there. I sprayed De-oxit on all pots and swept them several times.

The k4600 picture looks great with the TPG hooked up and all the colors are bright and clear. No problem with sync either. B+ is 128.0vdc when warmed up.

I hooked it up to a Taito Renegade PCB. It synced up and displayed an image that was washed out and looked incomplete. The image was too bright and characters are almost void of color and just don't look right. I adjusted every POT including the blackness on the interface board and it won't come close to correct. The image seems to have slight waves pulsing through it as well. I was surprised because that same PCB looks great on my G07 bench monitor.

I have the P306 interface board and it is hooked up NEG, non composite.
I swapped in a P317 and it wouldn't sync with the PCB, but synced fine with the TPG

Hooked the G07 back onto Renegade to make sure the PCB video output was still ok, and the picture looks great.

I hooked up a Centipede board to the k4600 and it looked vivid, stable, and the black background was super dark and looked outstanding.

So, any idea as to what the deal is with thing one? I'll come up with a G07 if I have to, but am curious to why the PCB works with one and only partially the other.

Thank for everything guys and a special thanks to Ken for the thread he wrote on interface boards and all the info that he has shared.
