I know it needs caps and flyback, they're original.

It had a right to left roll that didn't adjust out, it would go away after it warmed up. Turned it on the other day and it was playing blind but had neck glow. I just reflowed the pins for the daughter cards and everything else, no change. Turned up the screen pot on the daughter card, no change. Totally blank screen, no raster lines. Anything else to check/order? I'm going to get caps and flyback but I wanna consolidate shipping while I'm ordering stuff.

The 4600 does not need a new flyback. It is extremely rare for one to fail on a 4600 series monitor.

Your problems are likely caused by failing/failed electrolytic capacitors not only on the monitor's main board, but also on the three plug-in daughter boards (Power regulator, Video Interface, and X/Y Hor/ver).

reflowing new solder on all the pins too. i just had a dead k4700 and k4600 last week and caps and reflow and they look great. i also always replace C621 which is an axial paper cap when rebuilding them. i stock all the parts if you need.

None of em looked budged or gross when I did my reflowing, but I'll be replacing them soon.

I reflowed the daughter card pins and the pins on that one bigger connector, I'll reflow everything else when I cap it.

I have a big order in my cart waiting on my wife's permission to pull the trigger, I needed a few things for the K7201 in my Rampage too.

Does the cap kit come with the filter cap?

filter caps are not in the kits because only 40-50% of people replace them unless bad. i personally replace them on all my chassis.

I already ordered :(

I'll catch it on the next one

if you want to place another order yours won't ship until this afternoon and i will refund you shipping on the second order.

With a K4600 you are going to want to make sure that your cap kit includes C621.

Thanks for the response.

I had used this:

http://www.mouser.com/Search/Produc...virtualkey64600000virtualkey80-F873DU104M760Z

It is also a Polypropylene cap, just a different package, (AFAIK).

Reason that I asked it that although I have made great progress on this rebuild, (it was a fight all the way), I still cannot get the Horiz. hold to lock center. It kinda locks to the left of center and then has a slow horiz. scroll.

All electrolyitcs replaced, all headers reflowed, a few transistors replaced, ,,,,,, almost there!

Thanks again
Jeff

That's a 300v cap though. The original is a 1600v cap.

the mouser listing is wrong, the details and data sheet say it is a

• Lead spacing: 22.5 – 37.5 mm
• Capacitance tolerance: ±20%, ±10%

I thought I was missing something! Too bad, at least I would have figured this out....... Or at the least, had a culprit......
