New caps, C621, vr202 and a solid reflow and it looked beautiful for two (ish) weeks. The h hold (that is the right one?) would drift in and out but could always be adjusted back. I turned everything on the other night and all was well, went inside to make a drink and when I came back out it was like in the video and still is. The image is all backwards and the scrolling is different than before I did all the work to it. Could it be the h hold pot? it did feel a bit loose.

The v hold is the long knob on that daughter card, correct? That's the one I've been turning with no changes. I think I was confusing the v and h holds, the long one is what fixed the left and right scrolling

that's vertical hold. a thing to consider is that left and right on a vertical monitor is the vertical section, not horizontal. if you were playing with horizontal hold you would essentially lose stable frequency in the picture and it would just be a scrambled mess.

if for whatever reason you get the picture stable and you have something like a double vision effect, there's an incredibly delicate adjustment for that, which I don't even know exactly what it is right now, but it's the red pot inside the silver box. if you have one of those plastic CRT adjustment tools I would use that... those things seem to break easily.

million dollar question is whether security has replacements for them. :)

I didn't touch the h hold, I just mixed them up in my OP, I've definitely been fooling with the V hold. I'll take the card out and inspect and reflow the pot tonight, could a bad pot make the image mirrored?

your pic is mirrored because you have the yoke pair connected 180* out.

you can use my video to help with that.
i swap them on the chassis, where you will do it on the yoke for the 4600.
just DO NOT mix and match the vertical pair with the horizontal pair or you will see the magic smoke.

I'll check it out when I get home from work today, thank you.

For the record it wasn't backwards before I did caps and all the other work and it wasn't backwards after either, it was working fine until it started going crazy on its own without me touching anything
