so, i've got a k4600 that was dead. blown fuse and bad voltage regulator. replaced those, and i get 162 VDC for the b+ reading. followed the randy fromm flowchart and swapped out the h/v board, as well as hitting all the solder joints on the h/v board as well as on the main board sockets to it.

the flowchart also says to check solder @ p607. anyone know where that is? i can't find it on the chassis.

oh, and of course, i'm still getting the same thing, same b+ and no picture. any suggestions from here?

allright. tested the hot. i'm getting 588 ohms between the base and collector and about the same between the base and emitter. getting nothing if i reverse the leads. does that indicate a good hot?

bump. so i checked a quick transistor test video on youtube and my HOT is confirmed as good. so, i'm kinda clueless on where to go next. any ideas?

I believe p607 is the where the large 6-position connector from the Flyback transformer plugs into the main chassis pcb.

I have the same symptoms on a K4600 that you have. When I plug in a known working H/V board from a couple other K4600s that I have, the monitor works fine and B+ is at about 128v.

So I have narrowed it down to the H/V board, just have to figure out what to fix on the non-working H/V board. Already reflowed solder at the connectors on it and did a cap kit.

ok, hit that connector to reflow the solder and still nothing. i'm going to probably just go and reflow most everything tomorrow.
