Were there other transistors used for the HOT on a k4600? My manual lists TR601 as 2SC1893, but the transistor in the HOT location for my monitor is a 2sc1942. I couldn't find that particular transistor number anywhere in my manual parts list.

Just making sure this is actually the HOT I'm looking at. It has to be b/c the only other bottlecap transistor I can find is the 2SC1454 one on the powerboard.

One bump to see if anyone else had/has the same issue. Monitor looks all original so I doubt the previous owner replaced the HOT with an incorrect one or anything like that.

99% sure this is the HOT transistor, I just find it odd that it doesn't match up with what is in the manual/schematic.

OK, I took some pics showing that it is the HOT side of the chassis, and then a close up of the transistor in question. Again, I think I'm just being thrown off by the fact that the HOT is listed as 2SC1893, not 2SC1942.

According to the datasheet, the 2SC1942 is a high voltage NPN transistor intended for use in high voltage power switching and TV horizontal deflection. I would wager that a previous tech had that bottlecap laying around, compared the datasheets and figured "good enough".

So not a big deal then or do I have to swap it out for the "spec" 2SC1893? I checked it with my meter and it checks good/working.

I have a general "better than factory" attitude, so I'd carefully compare the datasheets. If it's fully compatible and has the same or higher tolerances, I'd leave that one in.
