throwing this on out here for opnions. got this chassis producing a very dim picture on my test tube, also misssing red and green. have the fly and black level cranked up and this is as bright as it gets. it was missing R103 yet still powered up, I put a new on in yet no change. I quess I will start with a cap job and some reflowing, anything you see this one might need?

yes a complete re-work of that chassis is needed.

new fly, cap kit, re-flow the works.

and clean up that gnarly repair on the underside.

ok I but a new flyback on checked all the previuos work done and did a cap kit. all I am getting now is raster. the black level and contrast have no effect on anything. The contrast amp is in IC1 replaced with no change. I noticed if a disconnect the sync wires the screen gets brighter. also all the colors are testing at 132v at Q210,202,203. they should be a 107.8 Q8 is pushing 12v from the collector not sure where to go from here.

did you try a different monitor in there? Maybe is a board/wiring problem? If you access to another k7000 chassis, maybe give it a try.

K7000 can go from crap to amazing with a rejuv.

I am having the same problem. I stated doing a recap, and noticed somebody did it already (how long ago unknown). So reflow the caps to see what happens. A little better, but still dim. What interest me is you can turn the fly uP(?), how do you do that???

Changed out the cap by the flyback, it did trick.

this is on my testing station, I have a shelf full of k-7000's and they work good with my setup.

Why don't you try and google the answer instead of wasting everyones time?
Actuallyyou wasted everybodys' time by posting that...

If there is a way other than the focus and light adjustments, I want to know. This is posted in the monitor section, it is in the right forum. Nobody wasting anybodys' time. Maybe you live in the computer, I dont.

you have screen voltage right below the focus on the flyback, then the brightness pot on the main board, thye are the two ways to control brightness on a 7000.

actually there are three, if you adjust the contrast correctly.

No, I was talking about anything I can do inaddition to the knobs. The knobs has all been adjusted. I thought you guys were talking about resioldering places where it can brighten up the monitor.

If I can do a capkit on a monitor, logic dictates I know about the focus and brightness adjustments. He is probably just spamming because nobody cares about monitors outside of this hobby.

I'm surprised nobody's pointed you to the neckboard yet... there's a resistor in the heater circuit on the neckboard, make sure it's within spec,
