You better do the whole playfield!! I just wanted to get the dirt in some areas, like the white and yellow art and well it dulled it in those spots even after I followed up with novus 2 and then Caranuba wax it's still dull where I used the Magic Eraser. I dont know what I did wrong either. Magic Eraser and 90% alcohol, then novus 2 and Caranuba Wax. Now it did clean ALL the dirt off these areas. The white is now WHITE, use to be gray from the swirls. I put on 6 coats of wax to get it to shine but its still dull. You can really only notice when you look down and the light reflection in the room hits the playfield you will see the dullness. Also no paint wear either when I used it, was happy about that and the white and yellows are clean free from the gray swirls, but damn the dullness. Can't see it while playing, but why wont it shine back up? Thanks

you took off the clearcoat along with the dirt I'd guess. Without that base layer, I'd doubt you'll get much of a shine.

I've done it before to. Magic eraser is a fickle friend.

I did this with my Buckaroo and the answer was "Hot Wax". The shine is awesome! Tim Arnold did a video about it and I really like the results.

Sounds like you need to apply more pressure or find a mini-buffer.

Why not tear it all down and re-clearcoat it?

You can bring it back with enough Novus BEFORE the wax... The key to novus is not to apply it like you are waxing a car.

Get your Novus2 and a very soft cloth, put a quarter sized spot of Novus 2 on the playfield and start rubbing in a small circle with your cloth pinched between your thumb and pointer finger.

You want to apply good pressure and just focus on a small area. Rub until ALL of the novus is gone.

Once it is gone, take another soft, clean cloth and buff the area. You will end up with a nice gloss. The more you do the above, the better the shine. I have achieved near auto clear level gloss with this method and no wax at all. The key is taking your time, applying good pressure and focusing on small areas of the playfield at a time. You will spend over an hour doing this and your fingers will hurt for 2 days if you are doing it right but you will have a beautiful playfield when you are done.

I should have just did the whole PF, oh well. Just have spots of areas where its dull, I'll just keep it nice and waxed for protection. It have 6 coats on the PF now. I guess only I will notice, everyone else will see a clean PF. About 90% of the swirls came out.

I'll second this. You need to strip that wax off and get back to polishing with Novus 2. It takes a lot of work. You should have a nice glossy surface before you even think about putting wax on. Wax is the finishing touch and protection.

Damn, like I mentioned, I added 6 coats of wax already. When I clean it again can I still acheive what you mentioned? Thanks

explain this please? First off there was no clear coat on, just factory lacquer (dont know if it matters). Heat up the novus 2 or the Caranuba wax? I'll use a hairdryer, is this correct? Thanks

I'll third this. I lot of elbow grease and Novus 2 has always brought back my shine.

Got the shine back!! Thanks for the tip on needing more pressure when doing the Novus #2 everyone. Buffed out nicely, and put 3 coats of caranuba wax. Thanks everyone!!
