I bought these two Taito cabs that had been converted to Altered Beast and Legendary Wings for $130 more or less just for the nice burn-free K7000 and G07 monitors they contained. I put another $150 into them (60n1,19"lcd,t-molding, paint) and sold them for $550 and $650 within a month, plus I got the nice monitors!

Most people try to sell 60n1's for $1000+ around here, but I just wanted 'em gone quick, and they are!

Sorry to any Taito purests out there!

P.s. I found a few more cabs I plan to give the same treatment to....

At least you made them look good. So many guys make cruddy looking ones with black painted marquees.

My only complaint is that one of them has 19 in 1 type sideart on it.

I actually built it as a 19-in-1, I was contacted by a guy who said he wanted a 60-in-1 NOW!!!!! He said he liked the artwork, so I just flipped the monitor and changed out the pcb! (Also painted the coin door...lol)

I"m going to build one out of a converted pacman. Doing it up nice. Re-stencil(i want to practice stenciling on something). Keeping the crt. So if someone wanted to convert it back it wouldn't take much. But i'm going with the phoenix sd pcb.

Thanks for shitting up the hobby!

Oh Relax....

Had this been a pristine ms.pac or some other crazyness I would concurr. These were junker cabs that were saved from the dumpster and put to good use. The cost to covert them back to original is just out of the question, as well as sourcing all the parts to DO IT RIGHT - Instead of just slapping it together which is just as bad.

Find solace in the fact someone else will maybe get their interests sparked in the hobby by wanting something more than a multi can bring.

Ya can't please everyone.. I actually did the same thing with a TEMPEST that was converted to a crappy last duel game that I just popped a 60 and the original jamma game board into and sold it with both.... As I got it, and as a multi. Made my $ back and didn't gouge the market with the $900+ conversions of actual games that could be saved.

Hate to be the one to tell you but not all games are to be saved. Just like the guys that complain about machines being parted out. If it wasn't for people parting games out most of my games wouldn't be complete and working original examples. I have a bunch of cabs i will be doing into multi games. 1 it feeds money into my collecting. And 2 I get rid of cabs i don't want. I have a Joust 2 that will probably never be deconverted to Joust 2. but i may make a multi williams out of it.....

Thanks for shitting up the hobby!

I'm actually using the money from these to save a Robotron AND a Joust. Games I actually like.

Oh, that and buying a Mossberg 500....you know, for when the "Zombies" come.

Nothing you can do about it. This is the new breed of "collectors". They think it's all fair game ( no pun intended) and as long as it makes them money and/or they get what they want or need out of it then it's ok.

Yep ,

The only thing you can do is add them to the list of people NOT to do business with , and I now have a couple new people on that list .

It's not like I removed anything original. If someone who is actually interested in Taito games wanted to, they could still restore these. Here is what they looked like when I got them...

Someone down here bought a Galaga in a Taito cab from the recent Mesquite auction that looks just like the one you did, except it has a Galaga marquee and has a CRT instead of those crappy (but cheap!) LCD's....

I have a very short list of people not to do business with, and I now have a new name to add to it.......

I bought a couple shitty old games, saved the crts out of them, DID NOT HACK THEM, resold them for a profit.

Anyone who puts me on any kind of blacklist for that can kiss my ass.

I love an original cab. Im pulling a robocop out pf a joust cab to try and restore it back to joust.

On the 60 in 1 games, frankly most people dont have room for all the cabinets and can't spend 3000 on a new one so I get why people want them. And honestly, does anyone really care about an Altered Beast machine? That game does not hold up.

Exactly! I have deconverted and saved several classics, all of which I still have. As mentioned earlier, I'm using the cash from these to decovert a Joust and a Robotron!

Cool , you like to keep lists too ? I find them to be a fun and convenient way to help stay organized . Another thing I like is those yellow sticky notes when I have alot of appointments .
