Well, me and my friends decided an hour beforehand to go see the midnight release of Wreck-It Ralph. I have to say that is one amazing movie! I'm not going to spoil details of it in here, but lets just say it really strikes as a great gaming movie, and it really has a lot of good references. Oh, and just for those who see it, stay until the credits are done and it does a "killscreen" for pacman on the end Disney logo.

Going tonight to a Drive-In with family..looking forward to it!

Are there arcade games shown that we havent seen yet in the previews? You don't have to name them, just a yes or no is fine!

in the middle as it does the section about games coming and going you have to look quick to see all the various cabinets that come and go. i did notice a star wars flash by.

I don't 100% remember the preview to its fullest, but I want to say yes.

Saw it today (Pinball Wizard came on the radio on my way to the theater... just sayin'.). I really enjoyed it... and yes, there are a few other characters in the movie that aren't shown in the trailers. They're not really mentioned too much by name, but you can see them in the backgrounds (the Mario princesses, Peter Pepper... just to name a couple). There is a LOT of stuff going on at Central Station... it's one of those things you probably won't see everything until you get it on DVD and pause it.

There are a lot more games than it shown in the stills too... at the very beginning when they're cycling through machines... I tried to keep up, but could only spot 3-4 that I hadn't seen in the stills.

Anywho... decent movie.

I'd be curious to hear what drove them to pick what games they did and what effort went into creating an'82 arcade in 2012.

Review: Producers and crew get an "A" or "Enter Your Initials for Top Ten"

Just watched the first showing at the Silverspot, a posh theater here in Naples, FL. Light crowd but have to say the storyline is pretty darn good. Give it an "A" for showing love to the classics and explanation on how games "die". Won't spoil it for you, since it just came out. Lots of characters presented. Even showed Battlezone in a scene(one of my favs). Won't be surprised if Sugar Rush shows up somewhere: almost makes me want one.

All 4 main characters get good equal time, so it is great for the kids and us older guys too. Sarah Silverman did a real nice job as well as the other voice actors( John C. Reilly, Jack McBrayer, and Jane Lynch). Lastly, the director and screenwriters(Ms. Lee and Mr. Johnston) definitely have an affinity towards the games...many references. Even a fleeting reference towards Walter from Twin Galaxies. "Mr. Wak" -really nice touch guys... really nice ending for the main game too(Fix It Felix). Even the detail of players putting quarters on the machine for next up. Man, I forgot about that.

BTW, don't you wish your power surge or power management system did the same as in the movie?

Talked to the theater manager beforehand. They have high hopes for this film from Disney. A lot of them have it in 3-D but I saw it in 2-D.

Lets support Disney on this one group(disclaimer....I have stock in this company....LOL).

Looking forward to hearing what you thought of it.

I just got back from seeing it and I thought it was OK. The "love arc" is way overplayed in movies and this one was no exception with multiple odd couples. I saw it in 2D because I hate the 3D fad and hope it goes away very soon. I would have liked to see more game hopping - maybe the sequel will have more. It was very slow in the middle and the twist (because all movies need a twist apparently) was predictable.

The arcade was not a 1980's arcade, it was a survivor arcade that lasted from the 1980's, this is why some of the games/characters are very new while others are very old. Honestly, it reminded me of Flipper McCoy's in Virginia Beach, VA. They have a very eclectic blend of games from all generations there and pull it off well enough to stay open without serving alcohol.

Overall I say go see it and be on the lookout for other important things from your childhood other than games when it gets slow.

Saw it today...honestly it wasn't as good as I was expecting but I'm not going to rain on anyone's parade. The beginning was great, lots of fun easter eggs, my favorite of which was some Street Fighter-related graffiti in one scene. I was a little shocked at how violent it was, but I guess it's PG so that's ok. The only thing arcade-wise that bugged me was the Space Invaders cabinet seemed completely wrong, and was in a lot of scenes because it sat next to the Fix-it Felix.

Was that our very own Chaos John in the special thanks credits?
