just recapped a wg4700 and still have problems getting the colors right

I went through and removed and reflowed solder to ALL the connector points on the chassis, daughter cards, neck boards as well.

The monitor was 'missing' red somewhat prior to the cap kit. Now I can get the red to turn up really high and even look really red on the background/outline of hte screen, but I can't get it to mesh properly.

I did rejuve the tube as well.

Is it just a matter of me messing with the black level, brightness, and the 5 pots on the neckboard to get this to work? Believe me I spent 40 minutes trying that already.

Sounds like "mesh" means you have convergence issues.

However, if you're not getting 'red' video signal coming through the circuitry, you may have a problem with one of the red color amplifier transistors on the video interface card or on the neckboard.

Do you have a red signal coming from the gameboard?

These are good questions and I think what I am going to do is pull another 100% working 4900 and hook it up to see what happens so I have some better information.

Hell this wiring on the connector to the monitor leaves a little to be desired so the problem could be in there to. I will get more info and report back.
thanks Ken
