just picked up Dr. Mario... Constant buzzing sound!

Hey all so I just picked up a good condition Dr. Mario for $150. Game is working fine exempt for the sound. When I plug in the speaker, it just has a loud, constant Buzzing noise. After reading online, most are saying I need a new audio cap kit on the monitor. The monitor does look a bit blurry and could probably use a new kit as well.

Any ideas, or is it just something simple I am missing. Thanks! Also, is this the kit I would need?

I would try a different speaker first then maybe a good working pcb in the cab just to be sure it is not the pcb.

That doesn't look like the 'full' cap kit and if you are going to the trouble I would say do it once and be done with it. I would check with mods or buffett as they know monitors better than I. If I get mine back working correctly, I am done with monitors period, no more, never again, ka-put.

i sell the kits for the sanyo and audio board also.

all HQ caps i also include the filter cap and B+ pot in my kit.

or i can rebuild your chassis and audio amp for you.

PM me if you're interested.

Peace

All Nintendos of that era buzz. Apparently you can recap the audio amp (which is located near the monitor) and that may help, but it won't eliminate the buzz. The buzz is a design flaw.
