I just got it home last night after a 12 hour round trip drive. I saved it from being parted out to a MAME machine. I haven't plugged it in yet, it looked too dusty to attempt it before a thorough cleaning. The attached screen shot is from the last time the last owner plugged it in. What's the best way to clean up the dust? Anything else I should check/do while I'm in there?

Where does the yellow arrow plug plug into? What's up with the extra bundle of wires at the orange arrow? I'm assuming the wires wrapped around the magnets are audio?

Does anyone have or know where I can find a picture/wiring diagram of the connection between the guns/coin box and the rest of the game? It has a plug and some random wires with no plug. Looks like it got pulled off but there's no other plug coming out of the cabinet. I think once I get these hooked up I'll be able to see what else is wrong with it.

i am not sure if it the same set up as the big a$$ time crisis two with big wooden case instead of yours plastic monitor setup but i can take pictures of the cages set up that was in there.

not sure how much it will help but....

like i said in a pm, you should have a cage of boards for each player. two boards in pedestal for gun interface to each cage board set up in large cabinet. maybe some of your wires are tuck in the pedestal, if your missing some?

from what i see the wires without a plug have been cut, but look to be like the other plug and is your second set of wires from pedestal.
match color of wires to other plug to see if identical.
should have two plugs in monitor box for them to plug into.

I'll have to dig around in there more when I get home tonight. I didn't see a second wire, unless I'm missing something. The two plug ends didn't seem to want to fit together but that was as soon as I got it in the garage after unloading it myself after a 6 hour drive. I may not have been doing it right, or, it may be the plug for the wires missing a plug and the other wire is jammed up in there somewhere.

here are some pictures. Their should be a computer power supply behind the large audio amp. i used that for something else when i need a supply.

Found another plug now the inside of the gun boards light up, still have wires leftover on the gun tower side. None of the service buttons have any sort of effect. It'll get to the screen pictured and the only thing that changes is the numbers/letters in the upper right corner.

Man...had it all typed, lost it due to timeout.

Okay, here goes again. I have had 2 of these, and worked on several others.

There are 2 cpu's on the cabinet. You should be getting self test for both. You are only receiving test for one, and its failing.

First step ***
Check your voltages from your power supply with a meter, to ensure you are getting clean accurate voltage to both cpu's. If you aren't comfortable tracing that down and testing, then yes, you are in over your head, and need a buddy, or a repair tech for help.

Once you've confirmed you have clean voltage, then re-seat all connectors on the cpu's, and check that the signal wires are leading up the monitors, and are seated correctly.

If you still cant get past the self test, or the right monitor is only getting raster with no signal to it, then its time for board repair. You can swap the two cpu's video leads around, just to make sure the right one isnt a monitor issue, but if all you get is the same dead raster when its hooked up to the other monitor, then it's definitely the board.

If it is board issue, you will probably want to talk to ElDorado, or one of the other board repair places. I have enough of a harness, and spare parts that Channelmanic *may* be able to create a test rig for it, and fix it, but that's depending on his schedule amongst other things.

BTW, the cpu's only have connections for Power, Video, Sound, Pedestal, and link to other pcb. I know it's a lot of wires, but it's not as complicated as it seems. The board in between the two cpu's is the sound amp.

Now..............lets address the pedestal.

Pedestals have 2 I/O boards, and they get power from the main cpu....so if one isnt lit (probably the right one), it means the main cpu is not giving it juice, which is highly indicitave of a cpu problem.

Those I/O boards have 4 connectors.
4pin flat connector - Pedal switch
12pin flat connector - service panel (each side of the service panel goes to its respective i/o seperately)
6pin rectangular connector - Gun
12pin rectangular connector - wire harness back to main cabinet.

The wires you have running loose, seem to be black, white, and the yellow/green earth, so i'd assume its probably coin counter stuff, but I could absolutely be wrong. Manual shows there are only the two connectors between the pedestal and the main cabinet, which you have plugged in. You need to trace the spare wires back to where they go in the pedestal, and give us that info to be certain what they are.

I hope this helps. It's a big beast of a cabinet, but its a great game. I'm sorry you got it not working, and hope you didnt pay working prices for it...but with time and patience, and maybe some board repair, you can get it up and running.
