so today i went to pay for and pickup my street fighter II, on the way home at a redlight, this man pulls up next to me and my buddy and honks the horn, motioning to roll the window down, i do and he asks, "do you buy pinball machines?" i said, "Yes." he said, "pull over" so we did. he said he had two he is trying to sell, a Black Out, and a Gamatron, neither machine are in working order, the black out machine the playfield is a 2 or 3 out of a 10 its shot IMO, its 100% complete, the back glass was probably a 9 out of 10, the body of the machine and artwork was probably 7 out of 10, the boards in the head, the batteries were leaking acid, some capacitors were bulging out and leaking, when you power the machine on it would engage some solenoids and lock up holding them in, as to not cause damage i turned it back off, then i moved over to the Gamatron, this machine was not working, the LED on the MPU would flash 4 times then stop, this was as far as it went, the batteries had been removed, was very very very minimal acid damage, had all new rubber kit, playfield i didnt see any wear, so imma say 9 out of 10, the machine body was probably a 9 out of 10, it just didnt work, the man said, i need the space and want these gone, i had spent all my money today though. :( i will be calling him friday to get them though, i dont really want the Blackout, but he wont separate the machines, its both or none.

the street fighter II needs some work, but i dont think it will be too far from working once i get a screen, and some balls, i switched it to tournament mode and it keeps trying to kick the ball out to the shooter lane but there arent any balls, or shooter rod, or score screen or flipper coils, so right now it just looks cool flashing lights around when in attract mode

He wants $500 but I told home the blackout is too far gone. He said he would take four. So I think its a bit high but gamatron might be an easy fix. Blackout might be disable but the playfield didn't have much paint left

Blackout sounds like a prime candidate for a full conversion :)

Maybe... but then again maybe not. Gamatron is a really rare game and uses a daughter board that I have never seen a schematic for. If you had a problem with that daughter board it could be difficult to fix. The fifth flash is for a PIA (assuming it's the same flash codes as Bally/Stern) so hopefully the problem is isolated to the main MPU and not the daughter board.

That said, I would still try to get both games and as cheap as possible.

i will do that because i'm CHEAP!! hahaha i know i have a feeling it just needs the sockets replaced for the eprom chips, the owner said, "if you unplug the wires and plug them back up it normally works, but i haven't fooled with it in about 2 years." which means to me, "i tried my normal technique of unplugging the wires and plugging them back, but it didn't work this time so its just broken." lol maybe not, it has the same bally boards in it as my Night Rider, and it also does have the daughter board. but since the MPU doesnt fully boot im hoping its a problem related to the MPU board only, as the owner pointed to the MPU board when he was saying what normally fixes it.
