Just picked up an Astro City cab, is ready to plug in a board and trying to figure out what I should put in it. Heard about the Atomiswave boards and see them going for around $200 by themselves and of course more if they come with games. Are the Atomiswaves worth it? Without going mame, what's the best bang for the buck to put in there?

Cps2 for fighters !!!!!!!!!

I have to kinda agree if you have the CP for fighters I'd go for Namoi, CPS2 and/or CPS3. There's alot of games you can get with those.

If you don't wanna pony up the money for a Naomi system I'd go with a dreamcast setup like I'm doing in a blast city cab I'm getting

Atomiswave - Games are limited but you can buy a lot of pirated games on the cheap, like $50 shipped

CPS2 - Get one of those 18-1, i think it goes for about $250 but you get a lot of awesome games...

Neo-geo - You can buy the legit games which are cheap or the XXX in 1 carts

As for the Naomi, good games aren't cheap & i believe Dreamcast has pretty much all the games available which is about 99% exact ports to the Naomi...

If you're into classic games, you can buy one of those 60 in 1 boards, that's what i did for my Astro cab. I also use it for my vert shooters..

Thanks for all the feedback, I'm doing some research on all the boards you guys suggest and I'm actually looking at a 450 in 1 gamebox. Supposedly all games play just as they did as original. Anyone have much experience with these? Are they as good as they sound?

I wouldn't, we put one in my friends cab and we both agree it's horrible. If you don't want to stick to authentic game boards then Id suggest going mame. Those 450-1 game boxes are not worth the time. That being said if you don't remember how the original games sound or play then I suppose you wouldn't know the difference.

I know the blue elf cards are slow fps and muffled sound but everything i've read the gamebox is exactly like original
