Going to visit my folks in Fargo this weekend so on a whim I check the Fargo CL and see a working Pengo listed yesterday for $450. Offered him $250, he countered with $300, and I took it. I know everybody will say I overpaid but whatever. Anyway, the game is in a basement and I was wondering if anybody has any idea about the weight of these things. Are they comparable to Froggers? I've got a dolly and my dad and bro-in-law can help so it shouldn't be a problem.

Everytime I see your sig I think of his joke about limes...

"I'm saved by the bouyancy of citrus"

Oh, and congrats on the upcoming pickup.

Feels pretty light compared to the rest of my lineup. It's also the smallest of all my "fullsize" cabs. It shouldn't be a problem.

That's not too much to pay. Congrats.

My favorite game of all time. When I sold mine prior to moving to Hawaii in 2005, I got $450. :001_ssuprised: Ahhh, the goold old days! :D

Well I picked up the Pengo this weekend. This was the worst pick-up ever. The game is heavy as fuck and it was in a basement with narrow steep stairs that turned ninety degrees halfway up. Me and my dad tried to do it by ourselves and couldn't so we had to go get my bro-in-law and go back. The guy was cool but he couldn't really help because he literally had no fingers at all (lost them all to frostbite in a snowmobiling accident).

I love the story behind this game. This guy won the game back in '83 in a local radio contest in Fargo North Dakota that was put on by Y94. The contest was sponsored by a local arcade and bumper car joint called Bump 'n' Tilt. This Pengo came right out of Bump 'n' Tilt and I used to go there all the time when I was a kid.

Since the game didn't spend much time on location, it's in pretty damn good shape too.

I couldn't resist...another nice Pengo found that was won in a contest..some remember this one I got.....this was stored in Pepsi warehouse..still in box...apparently supposed to for contest and never claimed...I scored it new in box for 900 which went to charity..cause the guy worked for Pepsi who found it..I guess they didn't know what to do with it...I did..its in my basement..Still had the letter of congratulations stuck above the winner..which turned out to be me...:D

Sorry, didn't see this post earlier as I would've warned you. As you found out, the full size Pengo cabinet it a freaking heavy duty beast of burden. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine.

Thanks...there was some typical discussion on these boards that it wasn't NIB or couldn't be...here is picture with the lock on coin door..still had sticker of inspection sealing it over lock..the coin counter was still wound back to 999990 so the first few coin ups didn't take it over 000001...which I confirmed was done so they could test them sometimes a few times to make sure they passed and worked.

Glad you got it home. Guess I was way off. It doesn't really seem that heavy compared to my other cabinets.

Congrats. Pengo is cool.

If his fingers were missing how did the guy play the game? Did he beat on the buttons with his stumps?

There is some guy trying to sell one around here and the ad has literally been re-posted for a couple of years.

He didn't play the game anymore. He didn't even have it at his house. It was at his parent's old house and nobody even lived there anymore.
