Just done A Tube Swap and Now need some info

A degaussing coil is so cheap that i would try that before dealing with convergence rings. Anyhow, mark the actual position of the rings just to be able to "reset" the relative positions of them

Always degauss first. Any time you do a tube swap, you should degauss the tube before even thinking about trying to converge it. You'll just drive yourself nuts.

Now, what you aren't clear on, was if you swapped just the tube, or if you swapped the tube and the yoke together. If you didn't remove or swap the yoke, you shouldn't have to adjust it, since it was already converged when it was in the television.

You don't have to buy a degaussing coil. You can make one easily - simply take the degaussing coil out of a junked 25" or bigger TV set, coil it up, and put a power cord on it. Just don't leave it plugged in too long, or it will melt.

I swapped tube and yoke. Made sure not to mess with anything(yoke rings).

I love your thinking on the do it yourself degaussing coil, I still have the old t.v. so I
guess I'll make one and see if that fixing the problem. I know if I move the cab the colors on the test screen come in perfect, but the crosshatch display is still off. Do you guys believe that degaussing will fix this?

My $3.00 Degaussing coil

Here are some pics of my coil. It works great, the colors look like they should. But the crosshairs are still off, so I guess I'll have to play with the yoke. Still happy with the way the display looks.

Glad to hear the colors were just a degaussing issue. You might end up worse off than when you started if you start messing with the yoke placement. The very edge of your crosshatch screen still has solid white. Some Midway crosshatch screens have other colors on the 4 edge tabs.
