Just did something stupid... hope I didn't ruin my monitor
So, I was working on my MK2 cab tonight and did something horribly stupid... I had a K7191 chassis that I hadn't even tried since it was "bad" and had one visibly bad cap and the flyback with white knobs on it. So, I just went ahead and recapped it and replaced the flyback. I hooked it up tonight along with doing some other wiring on the cab and putting the PCB back in, etc. Anyway, I forgot to connect the anode... I know, I know, pretty freaking big mistake. Anyway, I didn't realize the switch was "on" (probably a good thing) and plugged the cab in just long enough to see/hear horrible arcing (looks like to the monitor bracket) and quickly unplugged it. After making sure everything was safely discharged just in case, I hooked it up and powered it on. The game boots and plays although the screen has a wide horizontal bar on it. Now, this could be nothing since when I was working on the chassis I thought it odd that the horizontal coil was adjusted so far that the black screw piece was sticking out of the top about 2mm. I adjusted it back down before installing the chassis so I'm guessing it could simply be that it needs to be adjusted.
However, the reason I'm posting this before messing with it more is that I noticed the resistor behind the flyback (to the left of the flyback if you're looking into the back of the cab) was glowing orange! So, did not connecting the anode damage something or do you think there is some other problem?
