Just curious... what does it take to upgrade a Golden Tee Fore to Golden Tee Live?

The local bar near me has a Golden Tee Live 2010 or 11, I forget. It's in the same cab with same monitor as my Golden Tee Complete. I was just wondering, what does it take to upgrade to LIVE 2010 or 11? I searched on Ebay and I see no boards or anything for the Golden Tee LIVE series. Has anyone done this? IF so, where did you get the boards, etc.? Is this pretty pricey?

No one here is sporting a Golden Tee Live? Someone must have a LIVE in their collection, right? :D

Just going by the literature with my older GT, you need a vendor account with ITs and I'm pretty sure it has to be a commercial location. Sounded like they track the cash the machine makes during tournaments and all and get a piece of the action.

That might be true to purchase it from IT. But, if you look on Ebay you can buy machines for $1500 and play them at home. Someone must have or be selling these boards, right? Maybe it's just a matter of time just like it is easier to get Completes now.

Unless something has changed, it doesn't matter where you buy it, it goes on ITs network. They shut their server down for the older versions (like mine) and you can't do anything at all with them, not even update the scrolling info on the LED

Yes, I have the same issue. I have a Complete and they shut the servers down. I can't change the scrolling LED, etc. I understand.

But, if I want to play the Golden Tee Live OFFLINE, I should be able to, just like I can play Fore! offline. Right? Wouldn't I just need an activated board and just never plug into ITs servers?

I have a live in my house, and i dont need IT's server for mine to work. Your complete pcb wont upgrade do it, youll have to buy the whole system, but it will work in your cabinet, the control panel is slightly different as well.

Is it a PCB and hard drive? Just like Complete? Power supply the same too?

They added a few buttons on LIVE, right?

Did you buy an upgrade kit or a whole LIVE cabinet?

Golden Tee Live comes as a "PC BOX" much like Silver Strike Bowling does. It looks like a barebones PC for the most part. It includes a PCB, video card, hard drive, power supply, everything. You drop it in... it connects to an I/O board which you connect your JAMMA connector to.

Is GT Live that much better than Fore? I've never played.

EDIT: It does look like they added HELP and OPTIONS buttons though.

GT LIve is pretty neat. I like the character customization options. Not really sure how it totally works, but based on the few times I have played it, it seems that you can unlock outfits, etc. for your character. You can load your characters up everytime you play so you always have your character saved (on your GT card).

or save yourself a ton of cash and buy a pga tour it was just liek golden tee live but came out at the same time as golden tee 04

it has real courses and you can coustmise your golfer

I actually misunderstood what you were doing... I thought you wanted to play it in online mode, not just use it offline in your house.

I have a Silver Strike Bowling Live 2012 edition, and have it in my home offline.

The issue is a lot of the features for it are disabled because it is not connected to IT servers (uses a 3G data modem). Things like player customization, ball customization, and even certain game modes like "Vegas" bowling are not accessible without being connected to ITs servers.

It kinda sucks...and if I realized it when I bought it, I probably would have bought an older version that didn't have to be connected.

Now this is SSB and I am not sure GT Live is the same thing, but I can only assume, that some things would be similar.

As far as I know you cannot upgrade GT Fore PCBs to the newer GT Live (2007 - 2014 I think). It's a totally different system plus it's HD, runs smoother and faster.
