smart people rise up!

I don't claim to be smart (possibly a smart ass though...). To that end, the Ebay auction information is no longer available, so what exactly did you buy? That would be a huge help in getting started.

What's the difference between a "shitty monitor" and this? At least I know what a "shitty monitor" is, oh wait I have no clue what a "shitty monitor" is either.

This is all I'm seeing:

Wow, you've got Dokert and Ken Layton awaiting your reply -- an amazing opportunity for you to get some real professional help. Hurry up and don't blow your opportunity!

So, what we have at this point is that the shitty monitor works, and the one from Ebay doesn't. Kind of puts the Ebay monitor in perspective.... : )

Are you sure you're getting power to the chassis?

Just saying "it doesn't work" doesn't give much information. You'll need to do some troubleshooting. First thing's first, check where the AC power connects at the chassis, and verify you're getting 120v from your isolation transformer.

haha thanks for fixing my link! Yah its a brand new monitor right out of the box, no blown fuses etc... I unplugged it and tried to discharge it and there was no pop. Does that mean its a bad flyback transformer?? thanks

OK I'm going to try this first

If you can, take some pictures of what you've got. The picture on Ebay seems to show a plastic bag in the back of the chassis. This might imply that you need to physically plug some connections into the chassis main board before the monitor will work. Primarily, there are horizontal and vertical deflection signals that might need to plug into a socket or some pins on the main board. Also, possibly a degaussing circuit that needs to be plugged in.

Are you trying to measure the input voltage? It looks like your meter is set to read DC voltage, but I'm not familiar with that meter.

1st, set your meter for AC not DC. Use the 200 range, not the 600 range. Test at the plug with the black wire and the white wire. Red lead in one and black lead in one, doesn't matter which as it is AC.

Have you turned out the lights and verified neck glow? If you have neck glow, maybe the monitor is on, but the brightness is turned way down. Have you tried messing with the various settings on the monitor?
