Maybe wishful thinking I suppose. I wasn't planning on plastics because the ramps are good and the ones I need aren't available yet. I was just planning cleaner, rubbers, lamps, and sockets.

Jeff is a really good guy on here and very helpful.
If you guys don't like what others our doing, there are other ways to go about it.
i think he isn't being dishonest, or out of line. just my 2 cents![]()
sorry I hope you didn't think I was insinuating or singling you out. I think I am just kinda been annoyed at how many people on here lately are so pissy.
Someone DID make an offer. DOUBLE what you paid. You declined it for more money. What you are doing is gouging.
I hope you're not expecting to sell it too fast in here. You'll be better off on eBay or Craigslist. Sorry, but soldering one wire doesn't justify a nearly $1000 increase, even if you believe that fair market value is $1600. Someone also pointed out the math how the $900 offer was more than fair. You will more than likely be sitting on that machine for a bit unless you come back to reality with the price.
On a side note, I have a feeling that I'm not alone when I say that, per your example, if I got a Q*Bert for free and the fair market value was $500, I'd be selling it for $350. Of course, I'd also go through the machine, clean it up and make sure it is fully working. Why? I'd be making a heck of a profit and the buyer would be getting a good deal. BOTH parties would be happy and feel good about it. It would also sell a LOT quicker. Since you stated how you are strapped for the cash, you probably shouldn't let your greed get in the way from a nice 100% profit. Paying it forward... Nothing wrong with it.
Just remember: Karma's a real bitch. Think about it...

First off, congrats on the score Jeff! Secondly, Jeff is a great guy and an asset to the hobby and a hell of a guy. All you little haters, don't hate on Jeff for finding a good deal and trying to maximize his investment.... Welcome to America folks!
I am guilty, and guilty as sin, I have gotten several free game and I have sold some, parted others and even given some away.... Call the KLOV Police!!!
Don't hate on other people for their successes, I can proudly say that I am an American and if I own something I can ask whatever I want when I want to sell it. I don't need anyone one of you socialists telling me what is fair price to ask, I can figure that out for myself. I do enjoy others input and value the opinions of others and I will factor that into my decision, but that decision is ultimately mine.
Watch out... I maybe in your area sucking up any good deal I can get my hands on.....
So if he bought it for $50 and sold it for anything over $100, that is price gouging, right? And whoever offers him $100 for the game is offering a fair price right? I mean, they just pointed out how the math on that would be more than fair. Fucking genius. It doesn't matter if he fixed nothing or if he shopped the whole thing out. He can sell it for whatever the hell he wants. What he paid is meaningless. There is no mathematical equation that dictates what you can sell for based on what you bought it for. What if he actually paid $5k for this? What do the price police decree the price to be then? If I found a rare coin buried in the dirt in my backyard am I forced to give it away because of your mythical fairness equation? Stupid, bro. Makes you look like a huge fucking boob.
My business ethics are not stupid, and if it makes me look like a "huge fucking boob," then so be it. I've sold games for less than their worth because I had gotten a good deal on them. I'm also not in this hobby to make money or get rich, but definitely to break even. And, before you flame me again, I also am not expecting others in here to operate that way.
