Sounds like your door optics could not be lining up correctly. It may not recognize that the door is shut. When you open the door, hold down the small reset button until you hear it ding, should get a 61-1, then close the door and turn the reset key one time then the game should spin the reels and be ready to play. Has the game accepted coins before? Does your game have a bill vaidator and if so does it work?

i opened the door and hold button i never get any noise and when i let go a few seconds later the same code appears 61.there is no bill exceptor.i dont know if the game ever accepted coins before.i would believe so since every thing there the mech, hopperand wiring.i also try reseat the ram chip no help there either.

61

Low battery would give you a 12 as soon as you plug it in. 61 is a cmos ram error. If it will not go to 61-1 then you may have a bad ram. Or you could be stuck in a loop although you don't seem to be leaving 61. After cleaning optics and possibly swapping them with your other S+ machine then try a ram clear. You may have to reset features and credit limits. What is the candle doing. THe bottom should be at a fast flash then go off when you close the door. If it stays fast flash then it may be the door optics.

61 also pops up due to low battery because it causes corruption of the CMOS. You won't be able to clear it via the white button until you replace the battery. It's a 3.6v Lithium 1/2AA Axial-lead battery. Batteries Plus sometimes carries them, or can order them for you if they don't. Make sure you have the right description, as lot of folks don't know what an "axial-lead" is.

Here's a pic of one I got from Batteries Plus:

Once you install it (solder it in), you put your pcb back in and turn it on. You'll get the 61 error again. Then hold the white button until it goes DING and you see 61-1. Then turn Jackpot Reset key. It should either go blank or change to 65-3. If it goes blank, shut the door and you should be good to play. If you see 65-3, push the white button once to get to 65-1. Then shut the door and you should be ready to play after it starts up...

its not the battery i got 3.6 volts.i ordered a ram clear chip.hoping to try that once i get it

If you have a bill acceptor, you'll need a Set chip after the Clear chip. Otherwise the acceptor won't work...
