Just B*tch'n and a Gripe'n... F*ck'n change machine!

So my change machine died and for one little part, it's going to cost $200 for a replacement. Has anyone else been pissed about something small breaking down and find out that it's going to cost $$$ to fix?... Just pissed off! That's what I is!

I just needed to vent my frustration!

I was going to suggest that a used change machine could be had at that... then I looked at eBay. Now I'm not so sure.

I looked at CL and Ebay. Nothing good under $350 and not nearby. It's the BV20 Bill validator for a SEAGA Change Machine. They go for around $140- $160, plus $20 shipping and 3-4 week wait. Since I run a arcade. I need a new one asap. Lucky its a easy part to swap out. I found a vending company nearby that has one... just peeved that it's going to cost $200. I looked up PDF manual, took a look, tried my best to fix but looks like the part is just burned out and not reading bills anymore. It sucks but whatchagoingto'do?

i got this crazy ass idea... it may just work. When people come in, and hand you a dollar..
get in the cash register and hand them 4 quarters.. i know it sounds crazy, but try it once.

easier said than done. but when it comes to the weekends...

while I'm counting out $3 in quarters, i have watch a line form from families of four waiting for change, guys that want sodas, and game collectors that want me to try out 10 NES games before buying just 1.

I do make rolls of $5's and $10's but people always want $3 or an odd amount (ex $1.50) as they give me nickels and dimes.

A working change machine counts faster than I can and people turn evil if they have to wait 2 seconds in line.

As much as he can make change, I must admit that I much prefer a place with a working change machine that at least takes single dollar bills to having to wait and ask change.

So yeah, I don't think making change would work in a busy arcade for any length of time. Plus the change machine is like a game in of itself. And you always win!!

Yeah, I don't like asking for change as a customer.

Change machine repair is vital. Might want to get a second change machine in there asap so you don't have any out of order problems in the future.

Ive never been to an arcade without one. Last week when I was in PA i found a small little arcade with 8 games in it. It had 2 change machines.

The fact that RQ has 20 games or whatever and only had 1 changer is blowing my mind right now.

Do all arcades in the US have change machines? They are VERY uncommon here.
