Can I use an ISO on a monitor that doesn't require an ISO? I have one of the Makvision 25" monitors, can I use my existing ISO so I don't have to have 2 power cords coming out of the cab?

Also, is there a reason that this 25" cga monitor is smaller (only like an inch) than my older 25" monitor that has a bad tube? My old one was a K7193. But these newer Makvision monitors are an inch smaller than the my older zenith tube. And yes, I'm taking in account for the curve of the tube, vs the flatter tube that this one has. Not a big deal as I can deal with the lost inch vs price of a 33" or 27" inch monitor, just wondering though.

Thanks

everytime I put a vision pro or other new monitor in that didn't require one, I was always told to run it through the iso anyway. There are a few reasons I can think of.
Nothing negative can happen, let's put it that way.

Sure can.

May have to do with FCC regulations. I forget the specifics but anything 25" and over required something or other, so the manufacturers started making 24.9" to get around the regulations.

Thank you Tron Guy and Killer Kades for your responses.

I'm going to use the ISO, since it's installed anyway and like you said, it couldn't hurt.

And I believe you are right Killer Kades, as now that you mention it I do recall something to the effect that anything over "25 and made after 2007 had to have something digital or something added extra. (basically the FCC's way of trying to get rid of CRT's)

If I measure corner to corner, the new one is 25" where the old one was a hair over 26".
Anyways, not a big deal. But I do lose an inch nonetheless.

Thanks again!

Alot of people, and myself say if the iso is there just leave it. The reason being is if the monitor is ever swapped out to an older one that needs an iso it will already be there.
