It's the new year, and that means that the Louisville Arcade Expo is coming up soon. We had an awesome time last year, and are going to have over 22,000 sq ft of space this year for more arcades and pins!

Mar 2-4 Ramada Plaza Louisville, KY

Check out www.louisvilleArcade.com for more info. We got a special room rate of $69.95 a night too (until our allotment of rooms runs out).

Thanks,
Jeremy

I loved the expo last year and I'm excited that they'll have more space. I saw a few games at the Expo last year I had not seen in over a decade.

How can we bring our own games to the expo?

It would be great to meet with fellow KLOVers sometime that weekend. We should plan a meetup or get together.

We are planning on meeting up at Zanzabar a couple times that weekend.

More to come on that - gotta get with Zbar to see when he wants to do it. Probably a couple of pin tournaments / arcade tournaments there that weekend.

Zbar is an awesome place...and you got to go if you are in town anyway for the expo. The expo is going to be crazy this year. We are having two pinball tournaments (IFPA/pinballrankings.com...probably 3 classics pins, 4 or 5 in the main tourney), several arcade tournaments and a ton of old console tournaments.

We are working on all of the tournament info this week, and will hopefully have it posted up on the site (louisvillearcade.com soon).

As far as bringing a machine...please do! Check out the site for info. For each machine you bring on free play, you get a free admission. So if you bring two, your friend gets in free also.

I went last year and it was fun...brought down my DK cocktail too. Also went to Zanzabar afterwards, good food and awesome games :) Not sure if I'll make it this year, but who knows...it's about a 6 hour drive for me.

Man that would be awesome if you can come again! When you showed up with your DK in the back of your car, I was amazed that you came all the way from Michigan! If you remember the Holiday Inn where it was last year; this year is located on the other side of the Interstate at the Ramada. The Ramada has 4 times as much space (and power) that we had last year. I haven't had anyone commit to a Donkey Kong yet, but we do have a Donkey Kong jr. on the list.

I plan on coming and bringing a few games. What kind of list do you have together? I don't want to bring something that's already coming. LMK

JJ

My tentative plans are to bring:

Vs SMB with Excitebike switchable
Neo Geo Multi in dynamo 25"
60 in 1
Probably a Golden Axe also

Just make sure Jonathan Callahan isn't a part of it like last year..he ran some tourneys but he is a rip-off artist. Many members on many forums.

More drama:

"hi
hey there, this is the infamous j call here in louisville messaging you through mike turner a friend of mines account that joined klov a while back and is getting into arcade games, you can bet i will be there and there is not a thing that can change it, because i have been good friends with jeremy and joe for quite a while.... i am more involved in this show than you think, and you are not going to ruin it for me! im not giving details of how i am involved but just because some of the community was wronged doesnt mean that the good that was done locally doesnt outweigh the bad."

I mean I don't see what is different. Known scammer saying he is part of the show. The guys running this show need to remove themselves from him...I am shocked that they would allow this to occur....and this is a multi-name, multi forum lying scammer who i had to deal with crazy paypal stuff but he ripped off so many more people with lies...it's a public relations nightmare if you ask me.

not drama here,it does has some truth to it. but since mr. turner is letting me use his account to communicate to you i will tell you this much..

it is not important for you to know how i am/was/currently involved. but i will tell you anyway i have contributed to the show last year in more ways that one and was a big help, did you see any other bally games like spy hunter or another galaga there, what about pacman or galaxian? no you didnt, i had more of the popular iconic titles from the heyday and in other ways i was helpful in giving game parts donations and controller/console accessory donations over that latter part of last year durring the summer and they have bought stuff too (as all 3 have all been to my house many times, met my parents, seen my games etc.), running tournaments and above all giving away prizes for some tournaments which i will be doing the same this year. but its no matter, as i will more than likely be there this year.

im gonna try to refrain from using mikes account anymore as i dont want to get him into hot water with the community for infractions but i will more than likely make a presence at lax 2012.

How does that make up for you stealing hundreds of people's hard earned money and making up numerous lies? Those aren't tough games to get up there. If I bring a bunch of games to an expo but stole $1000 from people that makes up for it? Really?

i think these guys know about my past, as i have told them before at one time.. and i think they have shrugged it off as far as i am aware of. doesnt matter though like i said i will probally be there. end of story.

Probably not the best idea......for a banned member to use another members account.....to (what could be potential called) harass active members.

Probably should have just stayed lurking.

PR nightmare

First to reply to the important question; the list of games! We have a tentative list, but it is not posted yet. It will be posted probably in a couple weeks, around the first week of Feb. As you all know, machines live and die (and some die more often than others)! I can say that we have many more machines committed for this year's show than we did for last year's at this time, which is wonderful. If you anyone does plan on bringing something, please PM me, or reply to this post so I can add it to the list (and get you signed up for the "bringing a machine" swag).

Maybe it is time for popcorn?

I wrote a 3 page post to reply to this and then determined that even I wouldn't read it. So let me try to keep this short:
1. We met Johnathan last year at our show. He brought a few games including Pac Man and Spy Hunter which were needed titles. He also help start up a Pac Man tournament, as this tournament wasn't even planned to be held until I think Saturday at the show. He donated a pac man marquee for the prize.
2. Post last year's show, we have dealt with Johnathan, personally for parts. I have always inspected the parts in person and paid in cash..so I always dealt in AS-IS condition and never seemed to have a problem. We (Joe, Matt, and myself) learned about Johnathan's past. We discussed, and just thought we would act a little cautious. Though we never seemed to have a problem with him (probably since we were dealing in person??).
3. This show, all tournaments are ran by close friends of Joe, Matt and myself (mostly coworkers). This does not include Johnathan as we should have enough to cover the need of help. All of our tournaments are already planned, and we will not have any ad-hoc tournaments that we sanction during the show. From a show perspective, Johnathan is bringing machines (which we are very happy about), and is also a Vendor in our "Warp Zone" room. Vendors must sign a contract agreement that basically says they are selling legal property, that Arcade RX LLC (Louisville Arcade Expo) has nothing to do with their business, and thus is no way liable.

That's about it. Matt, Joe and myself just want to have another fun show. We are not in the business of ripping off people, and we are not condoning it either.

The expo is 22,000 sq ft, so if there is bad history with the guy, I am pretty sure you can avoid him (just hang out in the pizza parlor room with the cocktail arcades).

I hope that addresses the concerns, but if not please feel free to contact me via pm.

-Jeremy
