PR nightmare
First to reply to the important question; the list of games! We have a tentative list, but it is not posted yet. It will be posted probably in a couple weeks, around the first week of Feb. As you all know, machines live and die (and some die more often than others)! I can say that we have many more machines committed for this year's show than we did for last year's at this time, which is wonderful. If you anyone does plan on bringing something, please PM me, or reply to this post so I can add it to the list (and get you signed up for the "bringing a machine" swag).
Maybe it is time for popcorn?
I wrote a 3 page post to reply to this and then determined that even I wouldn't read it. So let me try to keep this short:
1. We met Johnathan last year at our show. He brought a few games including Pac Man and Spy Hunter which were needed titles. He also help start up a Pac Man tournament, as this tournament wasn't even planned to be held until I think Saturday at the show. He donated a pac man marquee for the prize.
2. Post last year's show, we have dealt with Johnathan, personally for parts. I have always inspected the parts in person and paid in cash..so I always dealt in AS-IS condition and never seemed to have a problem. We (Joe, Matt, and myself) learned about Johnathan's past. We discussed, and just thought we would act a little cautious. Though we never seemed to have a problem with him (probably since we were dealing in person??).
3. This show, all tournaments are ran by close friends of Joe, Matt and myself (mostly coworkers). This does not include Johnathan as we should have enough to cover the need of help. All of our tournaments are already planned, and we will not have any ad-hoc tournaments that we sanction during the show. From a show perspective, Johnathan is bringing machines (which we are very happy about), and is also a Vendor in our "Warp Zone" room. Vendors must sign a contract agreement that basically says they are selling legal property, that Arcade RX LLC (Louisville Arcade Expo) has nothing to do with their business, and thus is no way liable.
That's about it. Matt, Joe and myself just want to have another fun show. We are not in the business of ripping off people, and we are not condoning it either.
The expo is 22,000 sq ft, so if there is bad history with the guy, I am pretty sure you can avoid him (just hang out in the pizza parlor room with the cocktail arcades).
I hope that addresses the concerns, but if not please feel free to contact me via pm.
