Jurassic Park ramp question

I'll try and take some pictures of mine tonight. One reason I think my ramp is further to the right is because it looks like my right post protects the entrance more. The right side on mine appears to be behind the post more than yours. Hopefully with some pics we'll be able to narrow it down a little more.

Some pics. They're big, but I figured that bigger was better than smaller. Let me know if there are any more I can take that would help.

There are some more pictures of the entrance to the ramp way-back in post #5 of this thread.

here are a couple of pictures of the ramp entrance.

based on your pictures, stangbat, i still think it's the diverter, not the ramp. i measured mine, and the center of the rod is almost exactly 1 inch from the edge of the cabinet. could you or geese measure yours and see if that's the same? i wonder if it's bent right down at the playfield surface. i'll take it apart this weekend if i get the time...

ETA: looking at the ramp entrances, though, mine does look slightly offset to the left. you can see it where the flap hits the red bit on the playfield.

My diverter is about 5/8" from the cabinet edge. Sounds like that is the bulk of the problem. The ramp offset looks to be about 1/8".

The bushing that holds the diverter rod could be tilted, worn, or installed with an offset.

thanks so much for that measurement. definitely the culprit. i'll try to find time this weekend to dig out the diverter rod assembly.

if i need to replace the diverter, are they somewhat standard? i searched for the specific part from the manual (515-5781-00) and didn't find it at any of the usual suspects.

I don't think i have ever seen one either.

Could bushing that takes the diverter throught he playfield, (I believe that it is a standard flipper bushing) could be tilted, or bent? Could you shim one side of that bushing with a washer (or two) to tilt it back straight and move the diverter back?

shimming might be a good solution. i won't know what to do until i take it apart and have a look. if it's a bent diverter rod, i might be able to just heat it up a bit and bend it back. if it's the bushing, i could just buy a new bushing. at least the problem is narrowed down now :)...

took the diverter out, and it's straight as can be. it sits in the holder pretty straight, and the bushing is pretty good - very little play. so for now i'm leaving it as is with the ramp pushed over just a bit. i may look into the shim option.

but i have a new problem. upper right flipper is not flipping at all. the coil is fine, as is the sleeve, plunger, and bushing. so i measured the voltages:

Code:
flipper V1 V2 V3
------- --- --- ---
LL 0.0 60 6.8
LR 0.0 60 6.8
UR 7.5 6.8 6.8

where V1 is the voltage without the button pressed, V2 is when the button is first pressed (for a fraction of a second), and V3 after that. so the problem is clearly in the electronics.

also, when i press in the right flipper button, the L1 LED on the flipper board lights, and when i press in the left flipper button, the L2 LED lights, but the L3 LED never lights.

so, is that diagnostic enough to know where the problem is?

Looks like you're not getting the initial high power pulse to the UR flipper. Have you cleaned the leaf switch at the flipper button?

you were right - EOS was closed for the upper flipper. gapped it and all is well. thanks, stangbat!
