Jurassic Park ... Opinions??

Its one of my favorites. BUT im a huge fan of the movies so might be a little biased. Its on my grail list and ill get one soon. I Love the music from the movie as you play.

I had one for a couple years and loved it. Great theme. And the T-Rex eating the goat on the dmd is worth the price of the game itself!

It's fun. Mode based play.

Wasn't a keeper for me, the data 'eastness' of it just bugged me, particularly the artwork and the frickin trex that kept breaking on me

Here's a picture of mine...

Never played it any good ??

I just picked one up a few weeks ago as my first pin and I LOVE IT! I already got to system shut down mode aka wizard mode, along with 800 million pts. within the short amount of time I've owned it. It's a blast to play especially if you enjoy the movie and if you can get to "system shut down" or "chaos" mode rocks. Since I've owned it I really got to learn a ton about not only the game play but the mechanics and other doodads on the machine... And already itching to buy another pin to place next to it.

I also LOVE the movie and had to own it based on that alone... Not to mention it's really a fantastic game IMO. In terms of the music from the movie being in the game it's limited after the "welcome to jurassic park" although you do have well placed "call-outs". The game is considered to be a poor mans The Addam's Family / similar to Whirlwind playfield.. Truth is to me at least Pinball machines are all about the theme and obviously the game play. I know Addam's is considered to be a better game quality since it sports the bally name wise but truth be told I feel that the JP despite the fact that it's a DE game rocks! theme is so much better on JP IMO. To me for the price I would much rather own a JP and a Whirlwind instead of TAF. To me movie wise I can watch JP over and over again it really still holds up today even though its 20years old next year they are re-releasing the movie in 2013 in 3D. The pop bumpers / shots are located in similar areas on TAF Whirlwind, JP. And each game obviously has it's own gimmick / toy what's cooler than a T-Rex chomping on your pinball !

Yeah that modes great, the only thing I really hate about the game is that the "stampede" mode starts right away every time as the first mode. Once that mode is over at least the rest of the modes are random.

I happen to enjoy the artwork, the only thing I'm not a huge fan of during the modes is the "stampede" starts first all the time it would be nice to randomize that other wise the other themes are all random. The t-rex I'll agree with you though I can guarantee you that at some point you will need to know how to fix it. I've only had my game 2-3 weeks now and granted it was my fault but I uncalibrated my t-rex and it's kind of annoying to get him just right you need to have him hit a "Sweet spot" with hardly any room for error. But once you understand the mechanics of how he works it's not that complicated or overwhelming.

i bought one for my son. Dont know what all the hub bub is on it though.. But it does have dinosaurs

I have a very nice JP, cliffy proctectors, fully LEDed, extra Papo Velociraptor and Pteranodon, flame-polished NOS main ramp, and topper.

Play it all the time, love it.

Great bargain for the 1500-2200 range. (geo area and condition)

I bought A JP as my second machine, fixed it up, sold it, and then had to buy another one and fix it up for the Wife. It's her favorite game, she loves it. It's never leaving the house.

I think starting with stampede is basically a gift from the programmer, and a good thing. You're going to get a few million points from stampede just by keeping the ball in play, whereas in most (all?) other modes you have to hit specific shots to get points, and some of them aren't worth the risk.
