Jurassic Park + Mary Shelley's Frankenstein for Scared Stiff?

I could score a local Scared Stiff, but not without raising some cash (and gaining some room) by selling off a couple machines. I've considered putting my Jurassic Park and Frankenstein up for sale for this purpose, but I have a feeling that Scared Stiff by itself is not worth losing two excellent pins like JP and Frank (which I still like quite a lot).

I've wanted to add a Scared Stiff for quite some time, but its been a while since I played the machine, and need to spend some more time with it to know exactly how I feel about it nowadays.

But until then, what say you pinball brethren: Is Scared Stiff worth sacrificing both Jurassic Park and Frankenstein?

Wow, that's a pretty tough call. It's two very good versus one top-10. I sold my JP and regret it. MSF I could give or take. I guess I'd do it, but it really is a tough call. Would selling MSF and keeping JP and paying some cash be an option?

Not IMO. Though ive never played MSF I've owned both Jp and ss. SS of fun with satisfying shots but gets old. It's not worth two pins. Jp is fun and reasonably priced. MSF is supposed to be very good.

Other things have already claimed the tax refund. Namely launching a new business.

Not sure about pricing JP yet, as I'm still kinda far from committing to letting it go.

Edit: Sorry, you weren't asking for a sell price, you wanted to know what I had been offered for it, yes?

I haven't been offered anything for it, but I haven't really put it out there.

I own MS Frankenstein and a Scared Stiff. I played a JP once or twice. Scared Stiff was pretty much my first real pinball. And I wouldn't sell it for anything. I don't think I would trade it for anything either. That includes TZ, Addams, TOM, CV.....although an AFM would be a close call. Anyways, what I have played of MSFrank, I don't like it. Although its slowly growing on me. I'll probably sell it once I get the lamp matrix right. I would think JP is a hell of a pin and fairly resilient to to boot from what I hear. So the question is this: is money+ JP better than Scared Stiff. Cause I don't think JP is anywhere near as good as SS. Then the question becomes how much money. I would think the best you could get out of MSFrank is 1500-2K depending on how quick you want to move it. I would think it would be closer to 1500 if the deal has to happen quickly. So 1500 + JP = good deal on a decent SS since JP often ranges between 1200-1500. The other question would depend on how much you have in the 2 pins.

But my simple answer is, YES, get the SS if you can. Trade the 2 pins for it, sell em....whatever.

The final part of the equation is how big of a pin head are you . Most experienced pinball collectors consider SS to have a somewhat shallow rules set and the most critics say the humor gets stale quickly. I say if you don't play pinballs all the time and you have a few others to change it up, then SS is perfect for the casual player. I guess the pros can keep TZ. Still haven't figured out what people see in that one. Maybe someday. Either way, I'd make that deal and never look back, but you might end up regretting it if you really like the other two. I would recommend going to play the SS in question just to compare. After 5-6 games, if you aren't sold, play 5 or 6 more games. If you still don't like it, don't make the deal. Hope that helps.

If anyone has a JP at that price range within a 200 mile radius of the tri-state of WI, IL, IA; please let me know. Twin Cities would be fine too. As stated it's a machine I regret selling and would love to own it again.

I would say sell the pins and get SS, But maybe you should consider selling twister...

Yeah, that's what I need to do. Well, after I get Twister to 100% that is.

Sell Twister and Frank to get Stiff...yeah that's doable. Pretty sure I'd miss Jurassic Park terribly if I ever let it go. Damn good pin, that is.

I had just purchased FT when I sold my JP, and I really liked the flow on FT so I decided to sell JP. It just really has a lot for a lower priced machine: T-Rex toy, Raptor kickback, shaker motor, solid missions, etc.
