I am having a frustrating problem with my Jurassic Park....once in a while the left flipper will just stop working during game play. It will come back on it's own or if you lose the ball it will come back for the next one. I have checked the button leaf switch, end of stroke leaf switch and all wiring that I could think of...it still does it randomly. It seems more of a logic problem than a mechanical or wiring one. Anyone ever hear of this type of problem? What can I check? Thanks

Just a couple of thoughts here, if the EOS switch isn't making good contact all of the time, you will lose power in that flipper, so try shorting out the EOS switch, if that fixes your problem, replace the switch. Or try looking on the flipper board, that is the one in the bottom left of the cabinet. Check to make sure that the fuses are good, and the fuse holders are also good (press on them, if they break, they are bad). I believe that there are LED's on this board to show that the flippers are being pressed, make sure that they are on full and strong when you press the flipper button.
Just curious, how long has it been since you rebuilt the flippers? could there be a hangup in there somewhere?

Goose.

I second that assessment - I have a JP and had similar issues - For one, I replaced the Flipper board with a Rotten Dog (That was for other issues) but as Goose said, you can see an LED blink on the flipper board when you press a flipper.

I also had an EOS switch issue that was not making contact - Replaced that and it works well, still alittle weak so Im going to do a complete rebuild soon.

Thanks for the thoughts....will check the EOS....the light on the flipper board is working and if I remember correctly it works when the flipper does not. Will check that again next time it acts up. Problem is it is intermittent.

I recently purchased the flipper rebuild kit for my JP from Terry @ Pinball Life, and it was the best money I've spent in some time. I was satisfied with the game previously, but would intermittently have issues with my left flipper. It plays like it just rolled off the line now, wish I would have done it sooner!

After so many years of service that all of our pinball machines have seen, this is a no-brainer for me.

As soon as I get a new game in my evil clutches, one of the first things I do is rebuild the flippers entirely:

New flipper rebuild kits from pinballlife (adding new nylon bushings if the kits don't come with them)
New bats and rubbers
Most of the time, new coils
New flipper buttons
Clean/adjust flipper leaf/opto switches

The flippers are how you interact with the game.

It is so totally worth it to have them be super-crisp like-new.

The only Unhappy Face is that DE flipper parts cost almost twice as much as WPC parts :-(

I will look into the rebuilt kits....mine "look" good but probably worth rebuilding to make them the best...and hopefully fix the intermittent problem.
