Made a JAMMA adapter for a Jungle King PCB that I've had forever and never tested. Board boots up fine and I can play it if I add credits via the service switch. Coin 1 and Coin 2 refuse to register though to add credits. The only connection I think I didn't make was the MASTER RESET as I couldn't make heads or tails how to wire this up. Again, everything else works except coin 1 and coin2.

Thx

Double check continuity between the JAMMA side and the board side of the coin input pads. Then make sure you have a ground on the coin switches that is connected to the board grounds...

coin 1 and coin2

make sure you have a logic ground connected to the coin switches or they wont work.

use your DMM on the sound setting or the OHM setting and see if you can get continuity. also check to see if you get an open, or nothing. that will tell you if the switches are operating correctly.

double check the wiring from the board pin out to the coin doors to see if they arent broken, pinched, or connector problem. ohm the wire from board pin out to coin door switch to see if you have continuity.

If you don't have the coin cointers wired into your adapter (or into your game), you need to tie pins 9 and K to +12V to get the game to coin up. If the coin counters aren't there, logic on the board disables the coin-up lines.

I have the same issue, I cannot coin up a game using my JAMMA adapter.

What's strange is that I cannot coin up using the service switch as well, do the coin counters (+12vdc) need to be hooked up for that to work as well or do I have another issue......?

Thank you

Not sure if this will help, but on the adapter I built, the JAMMA service switch added a credit for all boards. I'll have to see if I still have my adapter to verify what pin I connected it to on the boardset. Mark's reply on the the thread I started (linked below) talked about missing pull-up resistors while his reply above mentioned connecting +12V to some pins. Maybe they have the same effect?

And the document linked above (Taito Switcher at mirror of Ionpool) adds a jumper wire. Maybe this is getting the +12V to the right place? But I wonder if this jump causes any issues if the board is plugged back into an original cabinet?

Awesome!
Thank you for the mirror link as the original one I was looking for vanished......
I downloaded the guide and will give it a go.
Thanks again
