I just recently acquired this jungle king, I was told the chassis was bad because it would not sync. It ended up being a bad connection.. Now I have these circles on the bottom of the screen. they come and go, sometimes more sometimes less. i have seen it halfway up the screen while playing and the screens change and refresh.. Any Ideas??

it doesn't always happen.. I was thinking something was up with the universal PS...?

I'm with krajkerjac... thinking RAM is a reasonably likely cause.
Have you tried test mode?

Thank You Darren.. I was on my phone at the time. I was going to google it once I was home.. The Ram tests all passed... So I guess it is not a Ram Issue?.

Anything else I can check?

Although I can play the game just fine.. this is driving me nuts.. I plan to sell the game after We keep it for a little bit.. I received it in a trade as non working and have brought it 80% back to life.. When it first turns on and shows the Jungle King Screen it is fine. But once it switches and shows the attract the circles appear, and in between screen changes it shows these circles on almost the whole screen.. During game play there is just 2 rows at the bottom of the screen... What the heck can this be?

RAM!

The chips may test fine and may not be an actual ram chip. It can very well be a supporting chip to the ram. The test for ram doesn't test everything! Ram chips are fairly easy to test if you have a good one or two.

How would I go about testing the Ram?

I also noticed that the filter board has been bypassed.. I have looked around and found many posts saying it is not needed.. just making sure...

one of the easiest is to piggyback a good one onto the suspect one and watch for changes in pic.

EDIT:

filter board on most is not necessary; note the word MOST.

Ok, I am going to need to buy some ram.. I see three types of Ram on the video board Schematics..

Do I need to buy all 3?

Static Ram 2114 - 2
Static Ram TMM2016P
TTL-Ram 93422

Before you do that, try pressing on the board slightly flexing in different areas to see if that clears it up. It can very well be a connection problem.

I just had the boards out, I pulled every socketed chip and cleaned every connection.. Still the same.. When the game first turns on and it says Jungle king with the green background it is fine.. Once it refreshes and shows the game screen, you can kind of hear the monitor make a load sound and the circles appear..

And the Static Ram TMM2016 P, look brand new like someone recently changed them.. I put them in different sockets to see if it would change anything but it did not..

With that said; Can you try another working board in there to make certain that it is not a monitor problem?

What?

That's NOT a monitor problem. It's a problem in the video circuitry on the game board and very well could be a RAM problem. RAM tests cannot test every RAM in the game but rather only the RAM that the CPU can read and write to.
