What genres do the different colors of title strips represent. I had a conversation with a fellow juke-ie and she told me, but I have slept since then.

Back when RCA started making 45's, green vinyl was country, red was classical, etc... (This was well before the days of Rock N Roll)

Yellow was typically children's titles, Disney song's and such.
Maybe there's a conection?

I have different colours for my two jukeboxes, orange for my Rock-Ola 468 as they colour cordinate with the dome glass graphics and green for my 443 as they look well on that one.
I like "symmetry," so as I can't divide the styles of music into neat blocks of multiples of ten records with the records I want to include, I stick to the same colours. I classify them by genre first, then arrange them in alphabetical order of artist's Christian name, or name of group. This involves quite a bit of moving records around if I change any.
One houses Motown and classic 50/60s pop. The other 70/80s pop, Doo-Wop and jazz vocal standards.

If you'd like a wide choice of title cards. Try this free site.
It centres your titles and adjusts the type face to suit the number of characters included. But you might need to add a couple of extra spaces at each end of long titles or artist names as it will in these cases use all the space available.

On this site you can choose between;

3 type faces,
3 font sizes,
10 colours,
15 genre " tags" or none,
5 strip styles,
Black or bold text and shading in title area,
Black or bold text and shading in artist area.

You can print them off and save them to use again.

I save them in various colours, in case I decide to change.

I believe his question was in reference to what the colors represented according to the manufacturers....

I'm perfectly aware of that, but I was adding my own preferences and something that might be of use to other contributors. I did it once before and it had hundreds of hits.

I mean, this board isn't so busy that such posts become too many to read and I was unaware that "digressing" on a thread was unacceptable.

As a "senior member" you should be aware that it's posts which stop boards from dying.

But if you'd rather....

Why don't you start your own thread then instead of hijacking his??? Or at least answer his question ???

1, Why don't you stop telling people what to do? It isn't your job.

2, Why don't you answer his question, rather than just having a go at another poster?

I dunno, there's always "one" on every board.

I don't know the answer to his question...you don't either. It just really annoys me when you post totally irrelevant things when people ask a question. Then you get all high and mighty when someone points it out.Just my opinion...you don't have to like it.

Out of curiosity, where do you guys find title strips these days, let alone different colors, without paying absurd amounts?

There ya go, that's a helpful post.

FWIW, I like "symmetry" too, so my Rockola gets all white & purple, they are easy to read and kind of match. The Rowes I print out on clear plastic, very cool but, the details would be best suited for a new thread.

If you want to see something really cool, check out rm's pictures in the 'What's in your juke' thread. I want to try something like that if I can muster up the patience.

I remember seeing very few yellow strips over the years and want to say they were usually soul and/or pop songs.

Well I suggest you get over it, it's just a message board.

And who's calling who "getting high and mighty?"

Read your own post.

As for your opinion, it doesn't bother me. As far as I'm concerned people can say what they like, about anything on any topic, they choose, why should I care?
I'd never consider it my job to tell them what to post or where, but then I s'pose it takes all sorts, doesn't it?

Actually,if you see my original post...the question marks mean that I asked a question.I was not telling you or anyone what to do.Maybe do some reading before you start accusing others.Yes,it is a public forum and we can post what we want...So maybe you should get over it too.I don't know what your problem is with me but grow up and get over it.I will continue to post what I want (within reason of course) as I'm sure you will.Lets just agree to disagree then....

Not to be a dick here, but would you girls stop the bickering and shitting on the OP's thread. I mean really, what the hell are you 2 pissing about? Off-topic or irrelevant posts in people's threads? Really?

I have one yellow title strip that came in one of my jukes... it was for "Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer" Kenny Rogers/Kim Carnes...
I suppose that could be considered a "pop" song...
