Judge Dredd or Lethal Weapon 3

Between me and my dad we own 2 lethal weapon pins. I do love it but I would probably pick the judge dredd. Seems a little bit more rare at least for my area.

For goodness sake, Judge Dredd. That game rules, regardless of whether or not you have heard of the theme before playing it. I want/need another one day.

While I'm not sure if I'd pick LW3 over JD, I'm not really crazy about JD at all. The humor didn't really come off very well to me, the music is kind of sucky, and the modes are honestly a little strange. The software package is kind 'awkward', being this weird mix of seriousness and humor, that to me just makes it sort of strange while you're playing it. The playfield itself has a lot of good shots, and it's a lot of fun from that aspect. Plus it has this worthless supergame with it as well...if they would have combined those modes into the regular game it would have made the game a lot better. Probably rambling here, basically if you like JD or dark humor, you'll love the game, if you don't then the game will be average to below average to you.

Like all pins, it is a matter of preference. Besides my own preferences, I try to pick pins that are fun to play and that guests will also enjoy and will have staying power in the gameroom.

I try to play each pin I am deciding about on more than one occasion to see if it holds up as enjoyable to play.

I've played both pins and owned a JD for a number of years. JD is a fun pin but you have to keep the playfield clean and waxed with newer rubbers and the flippers strong for some of the long shots to be effective. From a maintenance point of view, JD was very easy to shop and to repair. JD has a deep enough ruleset and is not confusing to a guest after a basic explanation of the ruleset. It's a great DMD "first pin" to own and to learn how to shop and repair.

Can't really comment much on LW3. I played it on a few occasions but was not a memorable experience for me.

Again it is really a matter of preference (like which wine you prefer), but I urge you to play both games on a few different occasions before you choose. I have seen folks buy a pin, get it home, play it a few days then decide it was not for them only to sell it and lug it back out of the gameroom.

Another thing I wanted to note is if you are a fan of pop bumpers you might be disappointed with JD otherwise I think the tribe has spoken here :) Very underrated and undervalued wide body pin like Demolition Man. It's a shame how some pins don't get noticed because of how lousy the movie was, another good example is the fast playing Johnny Mnemonic from Williams.

Just got done shopping my JD out and it plays great! My first B/W game. Still need to work on a VUK ball getting stuck issue. All my other games have pops, but I really don't even notice them not being there. I like DE games, but between the two I also would have to go with JD. Lot of bang for the buck. Seems like LW3 are always up for sale at a good price if you wanted one in the future. JD seems like it is getting a lot of good press these days and I wonder if it won't drive the price up some. Get one that is shopped if you can. Maybe it's just me, but that thing seemed like a pain to shop even with so few rubber rings and posts. There are a few other DE games I would get before LW3 if I had a choice. TFTC is a great game and can be found for around the same $+ if you are willing to wait for one. Like someone else said, it's all a matter of what you like.
