Just got back from a relaxing trip to Sonoma county.
Nice town called Guerneville, on the Russian river.
2nd time to a place called Applewood Inn. Highly recommended.
Anyhow, there are the relics of an amusement park across the street on route 116 called J's Amusements.
You can find a single video on YouTube that sums it up.
I saw a big shed and I got to thinking, hmm cabinets.
No, it's empty. Games long gone, but there were games there.
A few pages deep into google yielded this.

Am I imagining the distinct slope of a star fire cabinet in that dumpster?

Anyone here have stories of this place, what was there once?

J's Amusement Park is a defunct amusement park in Guerneville, California. The park was founded by Jay Skaggs, and later run by his son, Michael. The park featured a rollercoaster, a mad mouse, and several other attractions. Due to rising costs, the park closed in 2003, but is still used for special events, including a [haunted house] event each Halloween called "Dr. Evil's House of Horrors.

also found a listing of an event that sounded like a music festival that was held there.

here's a link to a slide show of more recent times where the closed amusement park is being used as a haunted house.
From what I see in the pics along with other info I found it seemed to have had two roller coasters, a tilt a whirl, autotopia go karts and a fun house. There's also a TV that looks like a good candidate for a tube swap.

I should note, that dumpster is an old photo. Unknown how old.
The roller coasters are completely gone.
The YouTube vid shows enough of the shed to satisfy my curiosity. It's now used for the Halloween fright night.
No cabs to be found here.
