I am familare with the board and with the project. I just would liek someone to clarify the status of it all. I would ask the man himself but going through the threads he seems liek someone who is hard to get ahold of. From what I gathered.

Jrok Designed and Built a board that ran actual old school Willaims games on dedicated hardware.

He did this for himself but then proceeded to make them for sale in small quanities.

From what i gathered alot of people who purchased them have seem to put them on the side and not even bother installing them and then selling them at a much higher price.

My question is has Jrok decided not to make anymore? or is it something where he makes them from time to time?

I know the board is amazing( all the positive reviews i read) i just don;t have a concrete anwser as to the current status of the project.

Thanks

It's my understanding that he is not making the board for awhile, but I am not sure if it's permanently not going to be made anymore or just a long break.

He (JROK) posts on her, you might be able to PM him and ask directly

The board simply ROCKS. I have one installed in an original Williams cab that has a 25" monitor shoehorned in it. I love it!

I also have 2 more and will eventually build 2 cabs to sell.

25" monitor = great idea. I would love to see a picture of that. All these good ideas make more work for me. A 19" monitor just isn't good enough for me anymore....lol

personally, i've played it on a 25 and robotron is too hard to play. just too much space to be looking around at. i find it is the best on a 19" monitor.

I too prefer my classic games to be on 19" monitors. I think the images look strangely pixelated at 25" for some reason...

I would like to have one as well. When he had them for sale I had to much going on so I did not pick one up at the time thinking it had ongoing availability. To be honest, if it was even mentioned that it was a limited time deal I totally missed it.

I PMed him a few months back but never heard back.

So is it smart to buy one when someone sells one on here or hold out and hope jrok makes another batch?

yeah it's a hard call with people looking to sell theirs for double what they paid for it.

I'm looking to soon sell my Robotron cab w/ a JROK MW board in there soon for $700. It has a new Phoenix Arcade style metal CP, CPO and leaf joys. The CP looks really good. I just need to cap and cleanup the monitor then I'm going to sell it.

I decided that since I rarely play it that I'd rather use the valuable space for a Tempest or a Star Wars machine instead.

I've had a really nice Joust UR gathering dust for the last year and a half waiting for the next Jrok batch. I sent an email and I never received a response from James, grew tired of waiting and didn't want to pay the ~$400 asking price for re-sale boards so I ordered a 19-in-1 for $130, delivered to Canada (darn postal strike), from Wu.

I wanted to support his fantastic effort and would have taken great pride in owning a Jrok'd Joust but no news isn't good news in this case. I understand the control layout will suffer and there are supposed sound anomalies but I'm tired of waiting and that price-point was irresistible.

i would love to have one someday, i have an empty gutted converted joust that is BEGGING to live again with a jrok board, but as you know they arent cheap and not too easy to find. yeah if you really want one post a wanted ad but pe prepared to pay dearly for it.

If memory serves me it took jrok over a year to make this board a reality due to work and other time constraints. Pretty sure it took longer than he expected. He of course produced the board and I believe may have done more than one run. I can't confirm but I believe he may make more in the future. He of course took on another project after the multi williams was finished. This is of course the multi mylstar which I believe again is taking longer than he had hoped due to things beyond the hobby like real life and a job. If I were a betting man I might wager that there will definitely be another run of multi williams boards when the multi mylstar is complete and ready for sale. Of course this is purely a guess.

I would really like to have one, but I am going to wait and see if a new batch comes out. I try not to support the poachers if I can help it.

I paid about $50 over asking price from another member, and I think its worth every penny, I also think the multi exidy is worth that too and its more (love mine). My arcade can only hold 9-10 games and I have more than that so the multi's solve some of that. I installed mine in a duramold... absolutely love it and play it a ton.... its worth the "poach" if you can land one, market drives price remember...its only worth what others are willing to pay...both ways

i love mine, and totally got lucky on it. i saw in a thread somewhere james mentioned he was just about out, and i pm'd him about a month later and he happened to have one in stock. i would get rid of it in a cab for a robotron if not more trade, but i don't plan on just flat out getting rid of it...

i am looking forward to the mylstar board. i've seen some converted qberts around lately and being able to throw one of those in would be cool.

$50 over isn't too bad. The recent run of $400 jrok boards i a bit ridiculous, but you are right, if people are willing to pay it, go for it. I would rather support the guy that makes them, and I am certainly hoping I get the chance to support him on these.
