JROK- Qbert FPGA

So to answer, no. You have to pull 12 or 30 volts from the PS, it needs to be fused, and you connect the knocker to the coin counter 2 on the board, aka "H"

do not take voltage from the board to power the knocker and make sure you have a diode present on the knocker.

I might have misunderstood what you meant about powering the board, but it is a standard jamma pinout.

I have a 12 volt knocker fused with 1 amp already with a diode. I'll add a pin to connection H for the coin counter 2. Just wanted to make sure on that.

As for powering the board. Page 4 of the manual states I only need 5v DC 400 mA. On the jamma connector, pin C & D are both are 5 volts. I would only need to connect C or D on both sides of the connector or BOTH C&D on both sides of the connector to the power supply? If I only need 5 volts and a ground, I should be able to connect B & C to the power supply to get my 5 volts correct?

Thanks what I'm asking. connect A & B for the ground, Just C for 5 volts or C & D for the 5 volts for power.

thanks.

If you look at the traces of the board, if C and D are connected then either C or D will be fine.

Anyone have one of these you'd be willing to let go of?? Arcadeshop is out with no ETA, and JROK is not answering PM's.

PM me please!
Thx
Tom

JROK's Mylstar/MSF Multigame JAMMA PCB

I'd be very interested in one!

I tried getting a hold of Arcade shop to inquire about an eta of the out of stock MSF multi's, not heard back.

I wonder if we should start a new post regarding "level of interest" to see if they'll make another run of Mylstar/MSF Multigame JAMMA PCB's.

The repair of the sound board in my newly acquired Q*Bert is not going well and this would be a good alternative.

Apologies if this is posted somewhere already, but I just found out about the update for this board to add Argus, but I can't seem to find the latest updates for the board in order to make this work on my board. JROK's site has what appears to be the previous versions only, but from the updated manual, it appears I need:

MENU v1.04
FPGA v1.09
MCU v1.04

Might someone be so kind as to point me in the right direction to be able to download these files? :)

And then do I just need to locate the Argus ROMs thereafter?

Ditto... I didn't even realize their was an argus update! jrok site has really old files.. and arcade shop link is dead.

Yep...I emailed JROK directly and also PM'd him...but it appears he has not been on KLOV since February. I hope he's OK...probably just busy.

I also sent an email to ArcadeShop to ask them to update the links...also no response yet.

I'll keep trying...

Anyone else out there have the files and can post them somewhere for those of us in need? :)

Jon

Thanks for the update...and very glad to hear he is OK during this crazy time.

If you are at all able to reach him, maybe let him know to update his site with the new files when he has a few moments.

Thanks!

Jon

Steve (from ArcadeShop) got back to me with the files for the Argus update!

Updated my board last night, and it worked perfectly.

Thanks to Steve.

I asked him if he'll update his website with the files or if it was OK if I posted them here.

Will do the latter if it's OK with him.

Jon

Steve says it's cool to post so here they are.

Update in the following order from the board's setup screen:

1) MCU
2) FPGA
3) Menu

And then load in the Argus ROMs and you should be good to go.

Didn't realize that this was yet another prototype/unreleased game from Mylstar from BITD. Didn't have much time last night to actually play it, but will check it out some more hopefully tonight.

Jon

Great news! Love hearing about extra games!

Now if I could just buy one of these boards to put it on!

Quick question:

I just picked up another of these boards to install in a guy's upright, original Qbert that I recently fixed for him (had a bad power supply). When I told him about the JROK board, he very much wanted one so I told him I'd try to pick one up for him if and when they became available again.

So now that I have one on the way for him and will install it for him when it arrives, my question is:

Do I need to add the wire to get the knocker to work with the board, or is this included with the Qbert/JAMMA adapter that ArcadeShop also sells for this board (which I also picked up)?

Didn't read the manual, eh? Coin CTR 2.
Also validate the proper coil vs available voltage for your new power.

Yea, I did read the manual, but it just wasn't overall clear to me if the Arcade Shop adapter would make the need for the extra wire going to the Coin CTR 2 necessary is all. So I'm hoping that if other KLOV'rs have already installed this board in a Qbert using the AS-built JAMMA adapter that they could enlighten me if the extra wire would still be needed.

Just want to make sure I bring the right stuff with me when to the guy's place when the time comes to install the board for him ;) .

For the record, the coil in the machine is original with the 1 AMP fuse already in place. And the game is still using the original PS as I rebuilt it for him and it works fine now.
