Jrok MultiWilliams Control Panel Phoenix Style Plus All The Original Panel Diagrams

I have been following Dok's thread.

If I was going to make multiple panels to attach to the JROK card (I'm not. I'm being lazy and doing the one all-purpose control panel) I would do something like this:

Code:
[FONT=courier]

+---+
| J |  Player 1 Controls      +---+
| A |=========[] []===========| C |
| M |                         | P |
| M |=========[] []===========| 1 |
| A |  Player 2 Controls      +---+
+---+

Where the [] symbols represent a plug and socket. You map all of the JAMMA controls for player 1 out onto a 15 pin Molex connector and then map player 2 controls onto a second 15 pin connector. Once you have that laid out, then you map the controls for each control panel into the matching connector. This will mean that unless you splice into the existing wires (leaving the existing plugs) that the contol panels will no longer be able to be used with the original harnesses.

One Layout might be like:

Code:

JAMMA Side Conn Plug Stargate Robotron Joust

Alternatively, you could create an adapter that mapped the JAMMA control wires to the original control panel socket. Then you would only need to create adapters for each control panel you wanted to swap in.

Yea I have a multi up and running but some things are wrong. Robotron will not fire nor do I have inviso on stargate so far. Hyperspace is where inviso should be and I am sure other stuff needs some tweaking.

Anyway... Ken what would be the best way to chase my issues down with the multipanel first? Whats the best way to test this beast?

I have 2, 12 pin connectors for the panel on there now. I know we had discussed 15 pin connectors in order to pull this off. I have the correct connectors but I don't have the Molex extractor tool for .084 only .093 tonight. I have tried bobby pins and paper clips but the pins will not come out. Anyway I have a few days before I have the .084 extractor in hand so I do have time on my side.

I would check your menu to make sure Robotron uses the joystick to fire. There is an option to uses buttons to fire.

There is a 6 pin molex that connects the the board in addition to the jamma. Jrok should have sent you a molex with the connector already prepped. This is for the 6th 1 player button (inviso), 2 player 6th button, reset, etc... since jamma only has 5 buttons for each player.

I tested all my buttons/joysticks at the molex connectors first by taking an extra ground wire and grounding each button as the game was on, then moved on to the leafs under the control panel. That way you can take a bad ground connection out of the equation.

Did you go to the menu and change the BUTTON MAP SCHEME?

STANDARD MODE – 1P and 2P joystick plus player 1 buttons 1 through 6 are used.

MULTI_WMS mode the button schem uses 1P joystick 2P joystick and player 1 buttons 1,2 & 3 and player 2 buttons 1,2 & 3.

It was in standard mode with joystick two set to buttons so I changed that. Now robotron works as it should.

I think I figured out the inviso for stargate. If you look at the picture of six pin molex. Pin 1 and 3 should be used but I have 1 and 2.

So now I know what the problem is...

What the heck can I use to get those pins out and switched?
