I have been playing around with your Multi-Williams board this weekend and I have to say, I believe it is the single most accomplished arcade project of the last 5 years. Great menu, great look, easy to use and program, runs the original game codes, allows customization, and is the size of a postage stamp. Nice work James. I had a lot of fun playing Joust, Robotron, Sinistar and hell, even Defender this weekend. My first time playing Bubbles too. Just awesome. You decide to create ANY other multi projects in the future, consider me signed up and put me on top of the list.

That's one big stamp!

Yeah, I have to say Jrok's board rules.

It fixed my Stargate (my main CPU was bad)... and now I have both Stargate & Defender running in there.

On Robotron, I have it set for Robotron, Bubbles and Splat.

Having never played Splat at length, I'm finding this game is a lot of WORK. I can see why it failed, but it's kinda fun.

Here's my best scores so far:
Stargate - 98,625
Defender - 64,975
Bubbles - 223,720
Splat! - 152,800

I hope JROK is inspired to make more of these kind of things.

Multi-Taito?
Multi-roids?

has anyone else had a hard time getting ahold of James? I got a PM when his board first became available. I PM'd and e-mailed him back a few times and never have heard back? I hope I didn't get put on his "sh*t list" somehow

I have cash ready to buy the board.

This board really is great! Very simple and has the option to wire as a dedicated game (with adapter), or use it in JAMMA.

100% EXCELLENT!!!

Sorry to hear that Dean. jrok has been nothing but cordial and professional in all my dealings with him, so I doubt anyone as nice as yourself would have set him off. I assume he is a bit busy and overwhelmed by the response he got to these boards. Once it tapers of a bit, I am sure he will get to everybody remaining in turn. I really wish I woulda picked up an extra board.

Du bist mein Held.

Yeah, I like to Americanize all my foreign languages. Plus, as Americans, we only need one recognizable noun to know what the hell someone else is talking about. I don't give my fellow KLOVers enough credit to have understood Held. But everyone knows what 'hero' means. (Kevin Bacon in Footloose was a good example)

I am still trying to dial the colors in. Even when I have Joust and Robotron looking right, Bubbles looks wrong. I can't see the ants, and I can only see the cockroaches eyes. It will be fun when I get the picture on my monitor to look right.

Personally, I'm hoping for a general purpose Z80 based board so others can do development as well without all the soldering.

Can't wait to try my board out.

herbertsmart asked a good question, that hadn't got to answering

so I'm posting the response in case anyone else wants to know...

To run in a machine with the original wiring harness you would need the JAMMA adapter.

This plug into the WSF board and then into the original harness. Note: it is keyed like the original to make it very hard to plug the wrong things into the wrong places.

The other alternative is to leave everything 'as is' and just wire a JAMMA harness in parallel to the original game harness. I've heard from one person considering doing that.

But providing your machine's harness is good and the power supply is functional just using an adapter to the original harness works fine.

My board arrived while I was at work today and was too big for the letterbox (

) so I have to pick it up tomorrow.

Will I be the first European to get jroks' board? Anyone over here already got it, coz I can't wait.

So what did you think about Bubbles?

I always enjoyed it BITD.

You know I have a dedicated UR. I think that game is way too under played. That is still one of the hardest games in my inventory.

You either really hate that game, or are like, holy crap how come I never bought one of these.

I can honestly say, they don't show up to often either. Now, if I could only get a hold of the duramold cab!

Got mine on Friday...hope to put them into my Robotron and my Stargate soon.

Vote for next multi-project: Exidy Venture, Mouse Trap, Pepper II, Hard Hat, Teeter Torture, FAX, and maybe Targ.

I may be practically the only one buying it, though

...

Still, I'd love to see it!
