I have JROK's MW board and know that I can unload the sound to an original sound board.

Do I need the power board + the sound board?
Does the sound board need to be from a certain game ?(Joust, Defender, Bubbles...etc)

Can you expand on your comment or directly answer the two original questions.

You need a power supply.

I had a JROK board in my Defender using the Defender audio board for a while. Every game has unique roms for the audio board, so only one game will sound right if you set it up this way. If you want to play more than one game, I'd recommend using the audio from the JROK board.

Help wiring Jrok to Robotron sound board

Ok, so I followed the reasoning behind using the original sound board and the need for the roms for whatever game the sound board is for, and I'd like to wire it up using my Robotron sound board. I am putting the Jrok board in my Robotron and I plan on having it boot directly to Robotron and disabling the 1plyr/2plyr hold buttons so basically the game acts like it is running the original board set.

So I see on the jrok board that there are pins for the external sound board output, but I'm not sure how to wire up the jrok board to the original sound board.

Like in the original post asks, does the original sound board need to have power going to it, or just be connected to the jrok board?

Also, there are 8 pins including ground on the jrok board, but where should those be connected to the original sound board?

I'd like to wire it up to the original sound board, but I haven't really found any instructions on how to do this other than jrok saying that it can be done. I'd appreciate any help on this that I can get!

Thanks!

Brian

I don't remember. I bought a cable from jrok fir the sound board. If soneone else Dorsnt respond soon, I'll dig around later. I'm pretty sure jrok sent me all the info. Worst case I can pull out my Defender and hook the audio board back up and let you know.

Hooked Thr sound board up to my Defender this morning. You basically want all the cables connected:
1) power to the original harness
2) volume control to the original volume control
3) the speaker to the original speaker connector.
4) sound select to jrok board

I can post pictures, etc later or pm me your email address to get them sooner.

I also have the pinout for the sound select connector.
