As most of you know, I picked up a free dead Jr. Pac a couple of weeks ago and have been working on it ever since. It used to be a Galaxian, then converted to a Jr. Pac-Man and I can see why for the coin meter only has 20k plays.

The whole cabinet has been painted black with the exception of beat up kickpanel Jr. Pac-Man art. There is no Jr. Pac-Man full side-art for conversions, so I decided to design my own. This is the concept design for the left side, any feedback?
I'm giving the cabinet a blue-on-black scheme.

So far I've:
•Cleaned the heck out of the paint
•Repair it... sorta
•Applied temporary artwork
•Painted top of the kickpanel blue (to match the blue design)
•Painted the interior of the cabinet blue
•Install new buttons (leaves) & joystick (Sanwa brand micros). They came in handy!!!
•Replaced the 25c inserts with repros from TOG
•Installed new lock

Need to do:
•Install new CPO, marquee and bezel (ordered but not arrived)
•Rebuild the monitor (unsure... it's a rare Zenith monitor with little info. available)
•Touch up the existing black
•Order new sideart
•Vinyl CP
•Restore coin door

I'm sure there's more... will update.
Pix tomorrow morning (uploading).

Concept sideart for left side (trims to contour of the cabinet). It's quick and dirty, made it in a couple of hours.

It looks good man. I don't know about the copyright logo, but other than that I like it. Since it's a horizontal shape though, are you planning on cropping it down to just around where the characters are?

Good luck.

Thanks. I think the © is a bit large myself... Thanks for the feedback.

I don't understand what you mean in the second half of your post. It's not "full" sideart per se, more like the style of the dedicated cabinet/Mappy where part of it has art. The conversion art for Jr. Pac-Man is just a silly vinyl sticker that says
JR.
PAC-MAN [jr emblem]

on it.

Where did order the marquee and bezel from?

I had them custom printed. The marquee was printed by jeff412 (high quality polypropeline to be adhered straight to plexi) and the bezel is currently original. I custom vectored the marquee to my liking (attached). I'll send the .pdf to you if you want it or mod it to match the original. I'm going to get a new bezel with a custom design to match the CPO.

Additionally the CPO is printed by thisoldgame.com on lexan.

Here's a pic as of how it appears tonight (sorry for the quality... Bad lens on iPhone 4). I just vinyled the CP with matte blue vinyl for many reasons.

Once the new CPO and bolts come the CP will be done.
A Sanwa JLW modded to feel like a Pac stick is a perfect fit on the Swiss cheesed control panel. If anyone is wondering, the ball top is an AWESOME custom red bubble top from Paradise Arcade.

Any more insight of the art?

Someone will likely buy those Wizard of Wor fire buttons from you as well.

They are? I thought they were Pac-Man cabaret start buttons.
Anyhow they will eventually be replaced with custom start buttons from Paradise so if anyone's interested go ahead. :)

pac plus marquee and ms pac bezel...i do see that alot around here lol
hopefully youll get it back to something rather than a franken pac ;)

Have you read the earlier posts? That art is temporary until I get the correct Jr. Pac art in the mail.

Repro marquee installed with my custom edited design, no longer a frankenpac. :) CPO has also been installed but not depicted yet.

Some new pix with the new marquee (needs to be replaced... problem with application. don't ask).

Any more comments on the side art design?

So what problem did you have with the application?

The adhesive wasn't correctly secured to the polypropylene and peeled up, causing lumps etc. This is a one-time problem (ordered art multiple times from him), a replacement is being sent out to me. Great service if you ask me.

Personally, I like the Super Pac conversion, although Super Pac is a better game, or the Mappy style dedicated.

I think you have WAY too much blue on the inside, your should paint the inside dark and the outside white.

Oh and I like this action shot of Jr.

You think? I was kind of leaning torwards an inverted Ms. Pac-Man or just having a blue color scheme since all the art is blue. Come to think of it, a white exterior isn't that bad of an idea. I'll try and PS something up. Thanks for the input.

That's from the bezel. Should I use it on the sideart instead?

I wonder if those screenshots are development pictures. Blinky is normally poking out of the bush to the right above Jr. and Yum-Yum; at least that's what I've seen.

That action shot would fill the sides of that galaxian nicely, just mirror it for the other side.

The reason I think the light blue is too much is because it will distract from the screen. The bezel is fine though.

Is there any drawing of Yum-Yum you could use?

Trust me. In real life it feels like a dream to play. :) Thanks for the idea of that shot. It is something to consider for sure.

Unfortunately, no original artwork depicts Yum-Yum however I have drawn a depiction myself in the marquee:

She will likely be incorporated in the art now that I have a base to work off of.
