JP's TMNT Restore (Scratch Build)

Beautiful work. Did you learn how to build these cabinets or do you have professional wood working skills? Looks very well done.

Thank you, I really appreciate that... i don't have any professional experience with wood working... I've just been building, tinkering, fabricating, customizing for as long as I can remember. Do-er of many, master of none.

Aside from my love of 90's arcades, I really think the reason I love the restoration side of the hobby so much is that i get to flex a lot of different muscles with the woodworking, wiring, fabricating and graphic design that goes into each of the projects.

I think I enjoy restoring the games more than playing them ... this would explain why I never seem to be "done"

What casters are you using for this? I think I may want to switch from the feet to make moving easier.

This is amazing! If I don't ever find a TMNT for a reasonable price, I'll have to scratch build with the help of this post. Thanks for documenting it :)

Thanks! --- I use Behr Satin Black latex primer + paint, two coats inside and out. I sand the exterior between the two coats.

THEN, i sand the front of the machine and the control panel box again and cover with 3M 1080 Series Satin black vinyl. The top, back and speaker area are still the exposed painted areas. It all blends together quite well.
Wow phenomenal job! I'm getting ready to paint the black on my TMNT and hadn't considered using a 2 in 1 primer and paint. It looks great!
