Still updating this thread at the moment...
Here is my finished Crazy Taxi ... I realize that I'm horrible at remembering to take before pics because I just jump into these things feet first and start dissembling right away. If only I could get them finished at the same pace.
So when I got this Taxi, everything was working except the steering pot was bad and game would not steer (a new Pot fixed that right up) ... cosmetically it was rough. nothing too bad structurally but man was it dirty all the way down to the Naomi board was just covered in layers upon layers of dust and dirt.
I decided to go a different route with the large plastic pieces and had them all painted yellow by my buddy who owns and auto body shop... don't recall what color code we landed on but they have a nice clear coat on them and look great. A couple of the pieces had been cracked so painting them allowed me to fix those issues and I was never really fond of the black plastics anyway. I changed out the monitor for a new 27" Makvision Tri-Mode and bezel. All of the metal components were powder-coated and I changed the floor boards to a black rubber diamond plate (from the original grey)
Artwork wise I was not able to find any NOS decals so I made my own. For the sides, I could find a decent specimen to scan so i just went with a simpler approach. Honestly I'm not too fond of the original side art anyway. I had to remake the instructions card which I took some liberty's with... the rear seat checker logo, side checker strips, the D & R decals for the shifter and a Crazy Taxi logo for the steering wheel were all re-created. I will post links to all of that source Art if anyone is interested in suing for their own restores. I know its not all original components but it may come in handy for someone.
