Everything works but my joysticks and buttons. I went to Jpac using winIpac program (just downloaded a application).

I clicked options and sees there is Jpac/Ipac/etc I choose Jpac and hit ok.

Clicked Program..... TIMEOUT!!!!

WTF how can i get them to assign all my joysticks and buttons??

any help would be appreciated.

win xp..

ok.. im not sure what version jpac is.. i bought used and it was working on other friend s mame..

what difference between this jpac and newer is.. there s jumper placed on PS2 on Jpac and has no USB slot.

anyway..

what i need do is open notepad on the side. then open CMD and type COPY CON NULL and hit enter then what??

then go to notepad and hit CTRL ALT P and i should get vitrual type mode?

winIpac shouldnt be opened til i m done with test mode?

LMK more details.

thanks..

How new is your jpac? I found this link, which helped me with a similar problem:

well..

bottom of line. the keyboard is hooked up to usb and it does respond to the winIpac keys just fine but my joystick and buttons doesnt respond.

I was told that programming will assign each buttons to work with keyboard keys..

my user in win xp is running as adminstration. it s owner and nothing behind.

try right clicking on the exe and run as admin.

Try the Jpac on another computer. Plug it into the PS2 port with the computer OFF. Unplugging and plugging when it's running can blow the pico fuse on the motherboard and make the PS2 Port useless. Try it on another. Open note pad and see if the joys or buttons make any letters appear. If it doesn't work there either, you've probably got a grounding problem on the cab wiring.

andy from ultimarc just emailed me this morning and he found the problem which I overlooked.

I hooked up jPac PS2 keybaord to PC PS2 Keyboard. This way does power up the Jpac but its wrong way. Im supposed to hook up PC "Purple" Ps2 Keyboard to jPac "PC/Keyboard" then I should hook up my keyboard to the Jpac "Keyboard".

It was quick test this morning before I could hit road to work. My joystick and buttons finally responded. I have not tested the program yet.

Hope this will help others to see the problem. Yes, what an idiotic! LOL!
