I was checking for "Joysticks" trivia on the IMDB page and as I figured, it is severely lacking. Anyone have any good movie or behind the scenes tidbits? I seriously did not know this:

When Greydon Clark approached game company Midway about using the image of Pac-Man in the film, he also requested that they allow him to feature a yet-to-be-released game in order to increase the film's appeal. The game Midway chose to feature was Satan's Hollow, which is played in the face-off between King Vidiot and McDorfus.

Joysticks was Satan's Hollow's first "public" appearance. No wonder the game gets no love. I plan to watch this movie again this weekend.

Mrs. Rutter went on to later fame as the voice of the Baroness on the GI Joe cartoon.

Dusting off the ol betamax?

... Are there any grown-ups on this site today?

I'm still waiting for mine to pick me up. Why do you want grownups, anyways?

Joysticks trivia: Didn't one of the actors get put away for child molestation, or something...?

The actor who played Jonathan Andrew McDorfus (Jim Greenleaf) has a webpage:

Anyone want to ask him to sign your copy of Joysticks? :D

I already have a signed copy from last year at CAX.

You may not know that the weekend joysticks opened it was the #1 movie in America. Funny thing was it did not get a lot of hype. It got more press after it came out due to the main stream media having a jaw drop moment because an unheard of film hit #1. It was basically due to the popularity of arcade games that it was able to achieve this.

Was it released to limited theaters? I never ever remember seeing a preview trailer or movie poster at all! I never heard of it till it came out on video...

I don't recall but I believe it was likely some what limited. I got this info from question and answer at CAX last year. Not 100% sure how many theaters it was released in.

I also recall Joe Don mentioning how during breaks everyone was playing the arcade games.
