Is there an interest for replacements of these? I haven't seen them for sale anywhere and I would like to replace some of mine. I will look into manufacturing them in house and make them available if there is enough interest to compensate my time and tooling. Let me know!

depends on which game/js it is for..

http://www.mikesarcade.com/cgi-bin/...ategory=Game+Parts&subcategory=Joystick+Parts

has two types - would they suit ?

if its for pac js's i may be. need to check which ones i have

how about posting the measurements for the one u are proposing to tool up for ?

Are you talking about the whole stick or just the black plastic tube? Those nylon tubes can be found on places like McMaster Carr or Grainger, almost identical matches.

Yeah the plastic sleeve / tube. I wouldn't doubt they have something similar, however, I can't find it myself. Just the material on Grainger. Could you provide a link to what you see?

I don't have a sleeve handy to measure, but at the McMaster Carr site if you search for sleeves, inserts or spacers, can't recall exactly, a TON of stuff comes up and at least one was a good match.

I just don't think manufacturing this part would make sense, too easy to replicate or find with a little effort.

Good call, I need to spec the shaft dimensions out to see for a good fit, but hopefully one of those offered will do. Only problem is I don't think any other color than black or grey is offered. Gettin close though!

Well, after measuring out the spacer, I currently haven't found any premade fits. One was damn close, but the color was grey. I did however find sylicon tube that is the right inside and outside diameter and comes in black and red. I may buy some of this and try it to see how well it looks and fits. This would be a better 'update' than the nylon stuff as I believe it will look better even with extended use. We'll see I guess.

Remember you can paint with krylon black plastic spray if the color isn't quite right...fit is the most important thing.

Any wear and tear (which will definetly happen) will show the color below. It really does need to have the material be the color intended.

Look at the hardness scale of the material and compare against nylon - if the material you get is too soft or flexible, it may distort or wear quickly compared to the original.

The website you quoted has a hardness scale (rockwell and the others xxx A and D) that compares the realative hardness of the materials on their site.

it is also possible to do a mold, then cast with plastic, coloured as needed, using the original if it a good not worn original. casting will give you a very neat fit.

I'm anticipating wear would be from direct impact, so a less brittle material would be better. An example would be tmolding. Rigid enough for the job, maluble enough to take the wear.

Casting would make sense if I was doing thousands.
