Alright, I need to pick up a pair of joysticks for a project I'm working on but I'm having some issues because of a number of factors.

The bolt dimensions are 76mm (3") x 66mm (about 2.6"). I know the Happ Competition sticks have this bolt layout but I'd really prefer a ball top as opposed to the bat tops on those. I have seen some mention of ball top Competitions but I haven't been able to find anything solid (that I'd trust without others' reviews). Oh, and these will be on a metal panel.

2nd issue... they need to be 2-way sticks. Okay, so they don't need to be 2-way sticks as I could modify a 4 or 8-way stick to only move in the 2 directions but ideally a Nintendo 2-way stick would be perfect... if the bolt pattern matched what I need.

So here is where I sit... totally confused because there are WAY too many joystick options out there (thanks MAME) :)

Help please!

Okay... it looks like the Ultimarc J-stik has the correct bolt pattern. Still not a 2-way but I can figure out a way to make it work. Funny thing is I just sold one of these to another KLOVer a couple weeks ago. But, two things I don't like about this stick...

1) The stick is long. I'd love to find something shorter (i.e. nintendo joystick height)

2) The ball is red... I'd love to find something in black.

Then there's that whole 2-way thing that I'm hoping for but like I said... if there's nothing 2-way that will work I'll figure out how to rig something up.

So, any other ideas?

The bolt layout for Nintendo joysticks is off (I believe) from what the holes in the metal cp I'm using are set at (66mm x 76mm). I could drill new bolt holes and use Nintendo joysticks but I guess I'm looking for an easier route. Now that I think about it I should just email Mike (mikesarcade) to see what he has for joysticks with this bolt layout. I'm putting in an order with him anyways.

I'm quite certain they make a mounting plate specifically for what you would want to do with Nintendo joysticks. it goes the other way too, there's assholes in the world that put like Happ joysticks in Nintendo cabs. heh
