I would like this thread to offer definitive solutions to lubricating joystick shafts. We have all come across joysticks that need lubrication. Yes, we can just replace them and it is usually fairly inexpensive, however I would like to source a suitable grease to replace original parts.
Background: I managed a major power tool manufacture's repair facility for a long while. While there, we used a special grease for power tools that we procured in 50 gallon buckets from a specialty petroleum supplier. When customers asked what we used we would tell them it was proprietary. It clearly was not, however it was unidentified other than part number. We lef them to their own devices.
I would like to know how to bring these sticks back to life. I don't want to trash them for no reason.
I hear about white lithium grease, non petroleum based, etc. Ideas?
