I have a Street Fighter 2 machine and this is my first machine and am a complete novice. The joystick will not move right, what can I do to fix this or does someone know anyone in the Columbus, OH area that can come out and fix it?

Look underneath the control panel and inspect the wiring. Chances are, one of the spade connectors fell off the microswitch.

In most games, you can reach up from inside the coin door and unlatch the control panel from underneath, then lift it up and look underneath. The joystick just pushes switches when it's moved around - check to make sure the switch actuators are being pressed, and that the wires are all connected.

either a bad microswitch or a bad ground
first open up the cp and inspect the wires to the joystick
you will notice there are square switches on the joystick each switch has 2 wires going to it one of the wires you will notice is going to every switch the other wire goes down into the cab or to a molex connector

move the joystick and note what switch is hit when you move it in the direction that it does not work
then examine that switch to make shure it has the ground wire(wire that is connecting every switch) and signal wire(wire that goes down into the cab ) attached if they are attached then more than likley its a bad microswitch

to test if its a bad switch unplug the wires and attach them to another switch on your game that you know works then test that switch in game and see if it works ot move oyur player
then just order a new switch from lizardlick for 1$ or so
